Sound Issue with Toneport UX2 Studio

I own a studio UX2 for almost 2 years

since a couple of months i noticed that the sound coming out from my studio monitors plugged to the UX2 is lollipop. it's weak especially on the right speaker(satellite) ,where you can't hear any bass at all, and it kinda distorted; i have to set the output volume from Pod Farm really low, and at the end i can't hear anything.

i thought the issue was related to the monitors at i was about to send them back for repairing, when i've tried to plug them directly to my laptop headphones port....and suddenly everything was ok. The sound was amazing!

i've also open a ticket at line6 support, but the answer was quite automatic, i mean there were written the same things (check this check that, re-install the driver ..bla bla bla...).

so i've google a bit what could have been the issue, at i've read that other people had the same issue, and probably due to ground issue. Looks like that setting the cables in a certain way, removing the power supply of laptop and use only the battery, and other bulllollipop that you don't want to read....at the end you may solve the issue. not always.(this advice were given from Line6 support)

now i've tried everthing...at the end i was in my room with my laptop (using the battery power supply) plugged to the UX2 and my monitors in the end. Well the sound was.....lollipop. again.

So, My line6 friends, the truth is that UX2 is a weak device. How can it be possible that  it's so easily affected by ground issue for instance. how is it built?

if you google there are plenty of people who had this issue.

it's clear that from your side the device it's perfect and therefore the cause has to be found somewhere else.

But its not. Be honest.

you avoid people like me to stay up all night looking for a reason, when the reason it's clear. UX2 it's an affordable DAW therefore it doesn't work as claimed.

now i can throw out of the window this device.

regards.

Sorry you are having problems.  Have you tried plugging headphones directly into the front of the UX2 to see how it sounds that way (instead of your speakers)?

What studio monitors do you have?   That you mention a 'satellite' speaker makes me think these are probably small (3"?) speakers where the amplifier for both speakers is one, and the other is unpowered.  It's very possible that the input circuit on your monitors or the output circuit of the UX2 or the cable connecting them is at fault.  Again, checking the headphone output of the UX2 first - if its clear, then the problem is not the UX2.

thanks for your prompt reply.

I've forgot to mention, but indeed i have the same problem also when i plug the headphones directly to UX2 (front headhones port), the speakers are Presonus 4.5BT and for satellite i mean the right speaker that has no power supply, but it's connected to the left one which has power supply and all the output/input port.

there's a huge difference when i plug the monitors directly to the laptop...the sound is at least 50% higher, therefore i have to turn down the knob volume, clear and the bass are ok.

OK, since you are getting crappy sound with headphones, too, it would seem the UX2 is the problem - have you tried a different USB cable? (cables are the easiest thing to check!)

Guessing, from your original post, that everything was working ok, then at some point the sound degraded?  That would indicate something changed.  Have you uninstalled the Line 6 drivers, deleted all of them from your hard drive and then reinstalled them?

No i didn't change anything before. i did it after opening a ticket where it was written to unistall and re-install manually, and not through Line6 monkey, the drivers. about the USB I can only buy a new one. i don't have any other devices with same USB cable as line6. but to me it's not the cable.
