sinistralx
Hey Guys, Quick question, does anyone seem to be having issues with engaging the models? It seems to be getting harder and harder for me to switch the JTV on & off using the model know. Would a few squirts of anti static do the trick? love to know if anyone has come across this and what you recommend . cheers
scotterp
I did quite a while ago. I simply removed the knob, dropped in a small chunk of wood from a toothpick into the knob, and put it back on. It raised the know slightly from the guitar body and it engages now without any problem. It's been at least 18 months since I did this and actually forgot that I had done this until I read your post. MikeMaben
I simply removed the knob, ... Hi Scott, how exactly did you remove it ? It doesn't appear one can just pry it up like any other knob because of the black plastic ring around the base of it.
scotterp
It's a normal knob Mike. You can gently pry it off - be gentle and patient - and it will come off. On the inside, it's just like any other knob. The first time I did this, I stuffed a small wad of paper in there. That worked for a little while but eventually, the paper compressed to the point where it didn't help. So I replaced that with a small chunk of wood. I may have read about it somewhere in this (or the old) forum.
sinistralx
Great thanks lads,,,, yes just gave the knob a tug (ahem) and it came off easily enough. Dropped a piece of cardboard in there and works perfectly now, excellent, thanks.
MikeMaben
Yeah thanks Scott, I thot I remembered seeing a pic of the top part of that knob removed seperately so I thot there might be some trick to it. Thanks again...
