Which Chorus pedal and Where are u running it in the chain? Strictly just curiousity. I always like to here people's takes on adding exterior effects. That is a true test of versatility for me. Did line 6 make their gear compatible not only with line 6 equipment but my many other effects pedals as well.

I agree that is probably a matter of tweaking.  Chorus is probably one of the easier things to model accurately.  The delay and modulation aspect of the sound is elementary.  Modern simulations of "bucket brigade" filtering should be nearly identical to the actual pedals, but it is the more complex aspect to simulate.

Dimension is a DSP hog but it can sure sound sweet when set up right... Turn all 4 switches on and play with the mix...

Played with Dimension a little tonight, and you're right.  Still need to fiddle with it a little bit, but I was easily able to get a good result with it.

Here's trick to get the analog chorus sounding good. Move the tone control all the way to the left. It will make the sound a little darker but you can compensate with the amp treble or presence.

Thanks! I tried this and it really gives a much fuller sound.   :)

I guess whatever works works -- keep in mind that if you roll off highs with one effect and then boost them back up with another, you are boosting noise and loosing some signal definition.  Such is the premise of using a low capacitance cable with passive PUP's to pass highs to the amp in the first place...but yes, rolling off highs before the amp produces less preamp distortion hash.  Amp section distortion character can be controlled with the tone stack knobs -- if the DEP Master knob is up high enough.  Boosting the midrange and cutting treble and presence can produce a nice creamy sustain.  Not sure that's what you want for this type of sound, but it's something to consider.

I was messing around with the pitch glide to comment on another thread and found that the pitch glide at the front of the chain, 50% mix, +0.1, gave a nice chorus tone (at least to my ears). I generally don't use the chorus for what I play but I added in the analog chorus to compare it to the pitch glide at +0.1 and thought the pitch glide sounded better.

I run it this way Guitar-Chorus pedal-Pod hd 500. I use the Danelectro Cool Cat chorus. This pedal is the best sounding chorus pedal. I really can't believe how good it really is!

Nothing on the pod 500 comes even close!

Man i used to use their $15 FAB chorus - the little blue plastic box - still one of the best choruses i've used. The controls were great - the mix knob worked beautifully. no tone suck - what more do you need? Hell they even threw in a pedal bag for the $15 asking price.
