jtkrol
Hey Everyone, Just received my HD500X so I am on the bottom end of the learning curve. I play mostly with my church and we try to play the songs exactly the way the artists do. We have GuitarPro6 software that allows us to make tabs...I know that GuitarPro6 can receive input directly from the guitar to tab via MIDI but I was wondering if it is possible to have it do the same thing through the USB cable? Thanks Joe
silverhead
No - not possible with the POD HD devices.
jtkrol
So what is the easiest way to go midi from the board to my laptop? I have a copy of Cubase AI6 too. Thank you Joe

Do you mean the HD500X or some other mixer/PA system?
jtkrol
Hi Yes the HD500X
silverhead
You can use a midi interface between your HD500X and your laptop, and connect them using midi jacks and cables - not the HD500X audio output. But this won't do what you want because the HD500X has no guitar-to-midi note detection capabilities. It will allow you midi control over some things like program change commands and midi CC commands but I don't think that is what you want. The short answer is that the HD500X has no ability to translate guitar audio to midi note events and send them to your computer. You need to continue to use GuitarPro6 or something similar.
