help with transplant wiring.

hello guys. my name is andres ludmer from rosario, argentina. i own a 700, and a luthier i building me a custom guitar that will have H-S-H pickups and i would like to transplant the variax guts.

 

it will be similar to guthrie govan's suhr guitar.

 

 

is it posible to have the same volume, tone knob, and pickup selector, working for both variax and magnetic pickups?

 

if any of you guys have a a circuit diagram, or pictures, or a usefull link, that would be great...

    It is possible, but it is quite complicated.

     

    I think Variaxes 700 and 500 and 700 share the same electronics, they only differ on the hardware (tremolo, wood used etc.)

     

    You will find very useful info right here and there. Ok, here and here too. More? Some diagrams here (search page 3) and successful transplants here and here.

     

    I you have courage to make your own pots (as I am trying to do) of prefer to order very expensive (but not that much) made-to-measure pots.
