Hi,

How are you monitoring from the UX8? Headphones? Speakers? What exact connections are you using (outputs from the UX8, inputs to your monitors)?

If you are using speakers, one thing to try is use a TRS / stereo cable to go from your UX8's main outs to your speakers. These are balanced outputs so if you do not use TRS cables, you wont have a balanced connection (if you have studio monitors there is a good chance they have balanced inputs). This could be the source of your problem.

Yes, when I heard the noise it was a high pitched consistent digital pattern when I was NOT using balanced cables. Please keep us posted after testing different cables.

I'm experiencing the same high pitch noise through my UX8 when I launch "gearbox". My setup is an Alesis RA150 Amplifier, Alesis Monitor One passive speakers, iMac Intel 2.0. The noise appears even with balanced cables directly from the UX8 outputs to the amplifier using the UX8 as mixer. I have a Behringer Xenyx 502 which I'd like to use for monitoring various sources, but just make the noise worse.

I just got rid of my high pitch noise!

I muted mic output 5 & 8... it went away. I tried all other channels and there is no high pitch signal... Its only on Mic 5 & 8

If you select line inputs on these channels everything is fine.

I feel like I just lost two Pre-Amp Channels, but at leased I can continue recording without that awaful signal.

My suggestion is to only unmute the channels you are currently using.

I know this is not a fix.... but it does temporarily get us working again on our recordings...
