POD X3 Pro compatibility with FBV

I feel incredibly dumb posting this question because I already know the answer. But I need confirmation.

I've just posted an order with my local shop for:

Pod X3 Pro - http://line6.com/podx3pro/

FBV - http://line6.com/footcontrollers/fbv.html

Everything I've read is clear as daylight that the two items are perfectly compatible.

But the guy at my shop says the Line6 tech guy has told him that the "FBV is only compatible with the Vetta and is not compatible with the Pod X3 Pro".

Has there been some misunderstanding somewhere along the communication chain or am I just incredibly stupid and illiterate?

Please, please give me a reply asap and lay my mind to rest.

Thanks for your patience.

Re: POD X3 Pro compatibility with FBV

It is compatilble with the X3 Pro.  Not all the switches on the FBV longboard work with the POD X3 Pro because those switches are Vetta specific (e.g., Favorite Channel).  But, nearly everything on the FBV is functional with the POD X3 Pro.

It works, get the FBV with the POD X3 Pro and it will all work fine.

    Cheers,

Don't believe everything music shop staff tell you.  I was recently told by a music shop employee that my Spider Valve has an output of 75 Watts - which is completely incorrect, it's 40 Watts.  I tried telling him it's 40 Watts but he absolutely refused to believe me.

no less than 5 switches are completly unusefull with a pod X3 pro and a fbv !!!

    1) stomp box 2

    2) stomp box 3

    3) modulation

    4) amp 2

    5) favorite channel

this is telling a lot about "linking" together those both LINE6 products....

it's only because line 6 think that folks, pro or not, will not be able to assing theirself the switches/expr.pedals to any parameters they like...

Take a quick look on a 15 years old GSP 2101 ( "digitech" stereo in/out rack effect with allso two channels of differents effects avable ), even if the sound is not as good as a PODX3 pro, i don't talk about sound here :

    - there is no restrictions at all about the compatibility with any midi foot controlers, you can assign all and any parameters you whant, to any switch/expr.pedal you need !!!

all this section is entirely programmable (easyly).

as an example, "i whant my expression pedal to increase the gain of an amp simulation assigned to the left/A channel and decrease the volume of the delay assigned to the right/B channel at the same time" :

impossible with the "most even best guitar effect of the world", but easy whith a 15 years old guitar effect. let me laugh a bit...

    my conclusion :

the relyabylity of the 2 expressions pedal and swiches to any parameter you'd like same time or not is only a dream, in fact,

only two things are pushing the PodX3 pro and FVB in a "pro" category :

    - the price and the sound of existing effects.

i use it on stage for the sound, but i am very desappointed whith foot controls, this big board under my eyes on the floor don't give me what i need in one single tap, like "swiching on/off two effects of differents channels at same time".

changing this point of the firmware program of the x3 pro could easily resolv it, (should i do that myself ?).

    Ps :

regarding the effects :  no "looping sound delay" emulation (head rush, rc 20, jam man or equivalent), in the podx3 pro...

    not so pro...

    have a nice day,

    regards,

    FBV with Pod X3 pro ? :

    partialy compatible.

    too much unusefull switches (5),

too expensive, too heavy / big if u have to realy control your Pod X3 "pro" .

No multitask about The reliability of effects buttons,

The Reliability of CC pedals are managed by "very stranges and restrictives rules".

get an other controler to use with Pod X3 pro.

Re: POD X3 Pro compatibility with FBV

Surely this is just a firmware update?

The amp buttons should work for the two tones and the stomps should work for the gate and compressor like they did on the XT pro. Hopefully they will get this sorted soon. Its kind of annoying.

Do you think line6 will bother updating the firmware for this? its really really irritating! I wouldn't have bothered upgrading if i'd known about these issues. I'm tempted to sell the fbv and get a fcb1010 and program it myself...

this is like apple bringing out an iPod that doesn't work on macs!
