POD 2.0 in worship service / patches?

Anyone using a POD 2.0 (old style) with maybe a floorboard for electric guitar in their worship service? I would like to know how well it works as a direct in to a PA, and also would love if anyone has any custom tones that can be put on the POD for some of the groups we play: Lincoln Brewster, Steve Fee Band, Hillsong, Chris Tomlin, etc. Thanks.

It's been awhile since I had mine but I did use one live for about 5 years, worked great.I ran mine into a direct box to mixer on one output and the other I ran into the effects loop of an amp/later just into our little inear mixers.Mainly I used the ac30 mostly.slightly dirty.I also used the model line6 layer, works clean until halfway then gets dirty after that.Sounds good on both.It has been awhile since I used it though. All the models sound good though and when you mixed different cabs with amps, great variety.Good luck!!!!!!Peace!!!!!!!!!!    oh,and the class a with 4 by 12 greenbacks, great sound!!!!!!!

Are there any custom patches available to emulate some of the popular worship songs?

Yep!  Check out www.customtone.com, select your POD and "compatible".  Then do a search!

Just note that the search is tricky and you may have to search several different ways since the hits depend on how the uploader labeled the tone file.  You will also have to spend some time tweaking...ears are different and a dead on tone to one is way off to another.  All in all its a good reference point.

if you go to custom tone.com and search for pod tones....type this in the search  either "menear" or "cornbread".....i have a few pathces on there you might like.  the dealy sound for "i am free" from newsboys and "time has come/intro" from hillsong.  you may need to adjust the delay ms setting to correspond with whatever tempo you are playing.  to calculate a 16th note or "dotted 8th" as some call it take 45 divided by the tempo of the song for a 16th note U2 Edge type delay.  if you go to lincoln brewsters wbesite he has his line6 pod x3 xseetings on there but you would have to use gear box to open them up and then adjust your pod settings in lien 6 edit to  match them up.  ihave never run my pod direct yet..i tried it the other day and there was too much "hiss" coming our of the PA... i do have my A.I.R. set at aobut 50 so i dont know if that was the cause of the hiss.
