record and pod x3 patches

So I've read that you can't use pod farm as a plugin with record (apparently you can't use any plugins?) but I've got my pod x3 to authorize all of it's amp models in record. however, I can't figure out how to use the effects models from my pod x3 in record. Can you even do this? If not, can you load tone patches into record from your pod? I know you can record the tone directly out of the pod but i want to record the dry signal and process the tone as an insert (as you could with the pod farm plugin) so i can make changes later. is there a way to do this?
If you save a patch in Pod Farm that contains effects, and then open that patch in Record's internal Line 6 amp, the amp will have whatever effects you used in the patch. However, you won't be able to adjust them in any way - the only things you can adjust are the amp controls, like Drive and Presence, and the types of amps and cabinets used in the patch.
I've tried this out with some of the stranger effects like Synth Harmony and Tape Eater, and they do work in Record, you just have to adjust their specific effects settings in Pod Farm.
The recent Pod X3 update, v2.0, has some effects that are not available in Pod Farm, and those same new effects do not seem to work in Record yet, either.
You are right that Record does not have any plug-ins. Like Reason, it is self-contained, no VST, no plug-ins, it relies entirely on its own internal devices. (If you have Reason and Record together, though, all of Reason's devices will also show up in Record.)
