Glenn DeLaune is a beast!

I'm literally running out the door, but I wanted to give a shout out to Glenn DeLaune.  Many of you know him from his great tutorial videos using all sorts of gear (including the Pod X3 Live).  What you may not know is what an amazing, amazing singer he is as well!  We did a project together for a songwriting competition for a new movie coming out called "Last Rites" (the website is here:  http://lastritesfilm.com/ ).

So the plan was I was going to write the whole song, record all the instruments.  I'd asked Glenn about a month ago whether he'd be willing to do the vocals for it, and he was kind enough to say yes.

Fast forward to ten days ago when I wrote him an email telling him I was giving up b/c I didn't have anything to go with at all.  So he says "well I really want to do this, and I've got some riffs lying around -- how about you write the lyrics and I'll handle writing and recording the song?"

Long story short, the guy wrote and recorded the attached song in about a day and a half.  I did the mixing, but man this guy's amazing.

We submitted the song last night -- when the website posts it for voting, I'll send the link here and ask for your support!

Cheers,

Fester2k

    fester2k,

I could have sworn I commented on this song on some other thread, but forget where.  Not wild about the talking vocals, but otherwise, everything sounds good, especially the guitars.  Also, this mix sounds better to me overall than the previous mix I heard.  Fun project!  I was tempted to enter the contest, but I don't think I have a tune that's a good fit for the movie.........well maybe....

        fester2000,

I sent you a private message, so make sure you read that.  I did end up submitting a tune of mine to the movie site (knowing my tunes don't sound as polished as Glenn's).  I don't know if I did it properly though: I just e-mailed them a link to my soundclick website (a particular song) on March 1st: which I think was the last day possible to submit.......or maybe it was too late.   I didn't have time to research it much.  Where can I read your lyrics?

            fester2k,

Either I was too late or I didn't do my submission in a proper fashion, so my tune is not on the movie website.  Oh well.  I listened to your movie tune (somewhat surprised it wasn't "End of Me") & parts of all of your competitor tunes.  I'm not going to vote for fester just because he can light up a light bulb in his mouth.  I thought your/Glenn's tune was as good/appropriate (or better) as any of the others, so I voted for you.  I think your tune is much better than the front runner (she must have more family & friends voting).  I'm confused.  You can't vote for the semi-finalists?  Or it's already too late for them?  I thought the lyrics of "End of Me" were quite good: reminded me of a an ex-girlfriend: she could be wonderful & other times a total bee-yotch.  So what part(s) did you do on the movie tune (which turned out well BTW)?

    I voted for you.

7% of the 45 votes from B.C. were for you. That means me and two others.
