A good problem to have.

I recently updated my gear by getting rid of my amps ( duel recto head and an older line 6) and replaceing them with a vetta. I do not regret this a bit, it is an upgrade to me.
But it leaves my with a pod x3 live and an extra 412 cab, sooooo. i am thinking of just getting a power amp for the x3.
Any one else using a simular setup as this? any suggestions on the power amp? or am I just nuts!!!
so i dont have the exact same good problem but its close. im using for my live and practice rig, a spider3 into marshall 4/12 stages right, and a pod pro into a randall rg 150 es into a mashall on stage left. it great. i highly recommend a solid state compared to a tube for running the xt, or something like it. tubes really create theyre own tones and color over what line 6 was trying to create in the first place. so the cleaner the signal the better. i went from a new mesa trip rec to a 250 dollar randall. givin it is the ones dime used religiously. anyway power amp. cool. solid state is where its at. not to answer your question with a question..but do you know if anyone has ever split a signal from theyre fbv to run two spider 3 150s? i was gonna just buy an ethernet splitter from office max or somethin but line6 strongely advised not to. they said it would harm the amp. but then the guy said someone on this forum "modified" his rig to accomodate for this. wtf does that mean? did he buy a splitter or did he tear into his gear and start clippin and solderin? i cant find it. ok now that my five a.m. rambling is over...have a good day. hope i at least showed ya other peeps do what your thinkin. later..
hey darkstar
thanks for the input! your setup backs up what i was thinking, solid state was the way to go.
I'm thinking about a American audio vlp300 into my old carvin 412 cab that's been rewired for stereo.
here's all i could find for running two amps with a fbv.
your set up must sound awesome!

hope this helps you.
Hey man, thanks for the help. i actually figured somethin out...well actually i just bought more crap. that usually helps right? : ) so now i have 2 spider3 hd150's. two marshall 4;12s a line6 4;12 and the pod pro/randall setup. now its just gettin ridiculus! but im actually able to control with relative ease everything i need with the pod pro floorboard and the spider 3 fbv express pedal. they just sit next to eachother.any ideas on a gate system i can use to cut down on the noise? i gotta play crazy loud and the gates on the line 6's dont cut it.but anyway...your rig must sound awesome with the carvin goin into the mix. i love theyre cabs man. my friend has a carvin 4;12 for sale for 250 bones.now if i could just stop buying everything else i catch sight of i might be able to afford it sometime.. I never thought of this before but with line6's notorius low end signals and carvins ability to handle extreme amounts of it. your sure to have a brutal match on your hands. so good luck with your new setup and let me know how it works out for you. if i can figure out how to send a pic of my ludicrus monsterosity of a rig to ya i will. im still kinda new to the computer thing. haha... thanks again for the info.
got an idea for your gate...
I use a Morley abc switch box to control my signal to my amps, i love it swicthes instant, quiet and cheap. you can find them new on ebay for about $80. If you pluged your guitar into a gate first then then switch box i think that might work. Is that kinda what you are lookin to do?
yeah that carvin cab is kick! i've switch alot of guys loyal to there cabs over to carvin with mine. it's on old, 1989 or 90 mono cab with the british series speakers I rewired for stereo. I must admit though i'm really wanting to try an l6 412vs with the vintage 30's or the old 212 vetta cabs. I've tried them in stores ( the 412's not the old 212"s) but not with my rig and none of my freinds them 1 to loan for a while.
I'm thinking a variax 700 is gonna be my next big buy though. but i gotta sell my mesa dual recto first. it's serial #251 so that should get some good cash. I'm not missing it in my sound now, and i'm not burning up tubes all the time.
yeah get some pics up I'll try to post some of mine for you to. your rig must sound huge!!
I did find a really cool trick last night, I set the bender to only play fifths then set the pedal to control the mix. Left the pedal in the off position. go into a solo or fill, and used the mix pedal to just accent some notes or lines. Wow it sounds cool. adds a huge amount of depth and dynamics! Try it out, i think you'll like it.
have a good one man, talk to ya later
Dave
ha! i just tried the fifths trick you were talkin about and you were right, it sounds awesome. whats cool is i have a spot or two in our set where i could easily use it. thanks man. and ive been really wanting to find a good deal on the L6 412vs with the vin30's. I thought i was gonna luck out yesterday because i traded an old rh200 randall. (not the one I use). and a bugera cab that i had sittin collecting dust for my second line6 spider3 and line6 412 cab. it was a craigslist deal and we were texting instead of talking. i asked what speakers were in the cab and he told me vintage 30's. wow. an old randall and a 200 dollar cab for a vin30 412 cab with a spider3? I wanted what he had and he was desperately looking for a randall head..so it was good for both of us. sounded good to me. he also had the fbv express which i badly needed since i didnt have one to control my own spider3. well when i got there the cab was the smaller one with the custom celestions. its not bad but i woulda liked the vin30's of course. i coulda made a scene or something over the cab but i could tell he just didnt know what i was talkin about in the first place. so i helped him get his new rig up and running..i even showed the kid a few new licks to tackle for the day. came back to the studio and started on my monstrosity rig. now heres a question for ya..do you personally use a gate? like a outboard rack gate? and if so do they normally accomodate for two outputs? id like to just find a mid priced rack gate but am not sure if theyre all just one in and one out. youd think theyd have some set up for stereo. if i remember some even have seperate controls for the left and right outs. im not sure though. ive always had a processor with a noise suppressor. but now that im a line6 junkie i did away with my boss multi fx. and another thing. do you know anything about the mode 4 marshall cabs? i had a chance to pick one up for $325 from a kid and he kinda backed out at the last min. but i think i can still get it. so either the carvin or the mode 4. im stumped on that one. supposedly they only made em for one year and they were built just for modern high gain and low tuned guitar rigs. well sorry so long. im gonna try to get pix up for ya today. and one more thing. instead of buying a rack case i took the front faceboard off of my spider 3 and slid the pod pro inside there. bolted it in and cut out a new face around it. it looks awesome with the spider head and the pod pro actually inside it. it fits perfectly! looks pro too. im just worried about heat from the spider transferring to the pod. will see on that one. haha have a good day man. and thanks again for all your advise. its a big help over here...novel ended
