Sorting out my live set up

I play covers, and have just landed a 2nd hand Live XT. Gear wise I have Marshall JCM2000 401, a Line6 Spider 75W Combo, and a Line 6 Spider Valve twin. I got the XTLive as it has is real hassle getting a consistant sound across the different amps, and to make it more complicated use a Strat, a Tele, and a Ephihone Sheraton, sometimes all within the same show. The XT manual suggests using it into the return input, however the Marshall is a parralell effects loop sop that gain is really poor. I am trying to achieve a solid country sound (Keith Urban), a Setzer Sound, and some stand Crunch and high gain Solo. The last 2 gigs I went stright into the PA.
As much as it is subjective - feedback from working musos that are using the XTlive for Clubs, Pups and everything in between, and how they you are setting it up would be appreciated. Should I ditch the standard amps and go for a power amp and a cab for the Band gigs, and simple do the PA thing for Duo shows?
what i did with my set up was prepare a different bank for each guitar. like say,bank1 for the strat, bank2 for the tele..etc. use the same patches in each bank but tweak them to sound as close to the same as you can. so when you switch to your tele all you have to do is switch banks. and so on. with the amp setup I always embrace a bit of a difference in sound from amp to amp. im the only guitarist in my band so i tend to try to get different tones for each side of the stage. i now use a pod pro into a randall rg150 es on stage left where i stand. and then i have a spider3 on stage right. ill dial in the randall for i good basic rhythm tone as my main output. then have a little higher and brighter tone on stage right for a good lead sound. with the two different setups i have separate control over each amps volume too. because i have a floorboard for the pod pro,and a fbv express for the spider. so i hope this helps a bit one way or the other. have a good day and have fun chasin the almighty tone! : )
