What are the advantages of Macs vs. PCs with Line6 products?

Is it true, are Macs light years ahead of PCs in their features and are they more user friendly for musicians? I am considering buying one, and wanted to get some feedback before doing so. Are they worth the extra investment? I use a POD X3 Live, and wonder whether a Mac will make my life easier? Thanx in advance,

In my experience, both platforms work well for music production. Some apps are only available on one or the other, so you should check the compatibility of the apps you care about before making any decisions. But for apps available on both, the two versions are basically identical in features, so it really all comes down to personal preference.
Well, I got a Mac a few days ago, and I can report that they live up to their reputation as far as music and graphics applications are concerned. They definitely have it "figured out" when it comes to making life easier for a creative artist. It's a shame that PCs can not perform at the same level. Now that I "know", if my life depended on it, I would bet on a Mac. User friendly features that make my life as a musician much more enjoyable. Can't ask for anything more than that!

I have an iMac that is just a few months old. I like it a lot, but Line 6 (& other companies) is not fully up to speed with Snow Leopard (and Windows 7).
Both systems can do music production well and frankly if you are paying attention to your software/hardware needs they are identical. It comes down to the philosophy of the machine. MACs historically come with more bells and whistles and are integrated very well, but are tougher to modify later on. (i.e. swapping in new hardware etc.) This would sometimes sticker shock people over to PCs which (Desktops) are very easy to modify with quite a few different options in hardware and software so are more easily customized over time to a specific setup/application.
If this is just a stand alone recording machine just compare the hardware/software end of things and this might end up pushing you in one direction or another. If you want to use the machine in a gaming or office environment the PC will probably have more options.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
