Hello,
I'll try to help you. First, allow me to clarify the way USB audio I/O devices work in tandem with computer (built-in) soundcards.
When you connect a USB audio I/O device (like the KB37), this basically gets assigned by the computer's operating system software as the new "default" (external) soundcard. It is normal to notice that your audio (YouTube, iTunes, etc.) will not be routed to the computer's soundcard... it goes to the output of the KB37's headphones or Analog Outs 1/2. This is normal and correct behavior.
If you want to process a guitar that's plugged into the Instrument input on the KB37, you need to have our POD Farm software program launched. You can select an amp model and effects, etc. Make sure the "Source" is set to Instrument. Connect headphones or powered monitor speakers to your KB37 audio outputs!
You should hear sound.
If you're trying to trigger Software Synth/Samplers, you'll want to go into those 3rd party programs' audio preferences setup screen and make sure the KB37 is selected as the Audio I/O device. The MIDI keyboard should trigger the SoftSynth/Sampler sounds and the output will come out of... once again, the KB37's output.
Hopefully this helped explain things a bit better?
