How To Transfer License Key To A New Device Without The Old One?

Hey guys,
I'm having some trouble. I sold my old Guitarport a long time ago on eBay and have now recently purchased a POD Studio GX. When I try to activate the Riffworks 2 Line 6 Edition software upgrade that I purchased in 2008 using "refresh" in the Monkey v.1.32, I get a "Transaction Complete" pop-up but the software doesn't have the green check mark next to it. Then when I start up Riffworks, I get a message that tells me that I need to activate it.
I have tried transferring the key, but seeing that I need the old device, this has left me with little success.
Any help would be greatly appreciated for I have been a long time Line 6 customer and wish to continue enjoying their software!
Thanks,
Eric
I also wanted to add that I have all the latest updated software. Here's a couple screenshots of the Monkey.
Eric,
The Riffworks 2 Line 6 Edition upgrade license was an upgrade to the existing license on your Guitarport Rifftracker.
The Guitarport Rifftracker units come with the original Riffworks software license hard coded to them. This license cannot be removed or transferred to any other device.
So, even if you still had the Guitarport Rifftracker (which you sold now, you would still only be able to use Riffworks with that Guitarport, not your new GX. The Riffworks 2 Line 6 Edition license you purchased cannot be transferred to the GX unless that GX already has a Riffworks 1 license on it.
That being said, in order for you to use the GX with the Riffworks software, you would have to purchase the Riffworks Standard software license as we no longer offer any previous Line 6 Edition Riffworks software.

What happens to license keys to Riffworks, Gas and Go add-ins, drummer add on etc, when the customer bought them for a guitarport, transferred them to a PODxt live and later the PODxt suffered a horrendous accident such as an AMP head crashing down on it from 15 feet. Since the PODxt no longer lives and was tossed in dumpster, how can I now transfer my keys to old gear again? Is such magic possible?
Stay in the mix and in the know.
