Problems with New UX2

I'm running Gearbox and POD Farm on a Windows 7 Machine. I've been using a Guitarport for sometime now with no issues. I just upgraded to an UX2 (as in it just came in the mail today) and I can't get the damn thing to work properly. I am able to listen to my iTunes through it with no problems. When I try to shred I get no sound out of the software... All I get is a clean, natural sound. It doesn't matter what setting I setup I get the same clean sound. Like I said I am able to listen to my iTunes with no problems so I have no doubt that it's hooked up correctly and I had no problems with the same software using a Gutiar Port... any ideas?
DCLXVI,
I suggest completely uninstalling all Line 6 software from your computer, then downloading and installing the latest version of Gearbox 3.71. Also, update to the latest version of Line 6 Monkey, and use it to download and install the latest compatible Windows 7 drivers.
Disconnect all other USB devices (except for a mouse, keyboard, and UX2) from your computer while troubleshooting this issue. Completely remove ANY USB hubs, and test the UX2 on all of the USB ports your computer has.

Alright, it seems that there were a number of things against me in this. The majority of the issue was with the drivers. I had been using the beta driver Win7 at that point but upgraded to the official Win7 drivers. I also updated Gearbox to the latest version both after a complete uninstall of ALL Line 6 software. This alone did not fix the problem. I had to set the Gearbox application to run in WinXP SP3 mode and ensure that I run the program as an administrator. This seems to have fixed the problems with the software. However, I was still having issues with the hardware. Ocassionally I would get a DSP error saying that the setting failed to load and that I might not hear the selected model and something about a hardware error. I would have to reinstall everything again. The other problem I was running into was I would be playing or recording and everyhting would lock up on me. I would lose sound, and the needles on the gauges would freeze where they were (typically in the middle of the gauge). Also, when I was playing, I was getting this crazy popping sound in my monitors. This would happen even if I was just listening to music... Turns out, my laptop doesn't push enough power out of its USB ports to properly power the UX2. This wasn't an issue with the Guitarport but it was also a smaller (and simpler) device. Hooked up a sefl powered USB hub and I haven't had any problems since.
