FBV Express controlling Vetta II

Last week I purchased an FBV Express MKII to control my Vetta II combo, all I want to do is control the "boost" function for solos. I programmed footswitch A B C and D to toggle cc 133 which for vetta is Tremolo, set tremolo to control boost 3 db... plugged the pedal into the Vetta and all the FBV controls is channel switching A B C D when connected through the regular pedal input jack. It looks like the FBV will only control the parameters I need to control via the USB connection through midi... sucky...
Okay, my question: if I spend the extra money to buy a midi interface like say the Uno Sport, connect the USB on the FBV pedal to the Uno Sport then the Uno Sport midi connectors to the Vetta will I be able to control tremolo/boost this way? Or should I just toss the FBV contoller onto the ol' junk pile?
Follow up question in case what I am trying to do is not possible: Where can I get a single switch that can be made to control the boost function in my Vetta II?
I had the top of the line FBV Longboard at one point and it worked okay but:
1.IT WAS HUGE, it didn't fit on my regular pedalboard I hated lugging it around
2. there were soooo many switches on it I ALWAYS ended up hitting the wrong switch ( I sing and can't always look at my pedalboard when switching things on and off)
3.it was pretty ridiculous to have a pedal that is soooo expensive and has so many switches when I really only needed one, a boost control. I used that pedal at 2 shows, then it sat in my garage for a year, then I sold it on Ebay.
Hello,
Sorry, you can't do what it is you're hoping to accomplish with the FBV Express MKII. The FBV Control software program allows you to map MIDI CC's to the FBV Express MKII: but it functions only when transmitting to a software application on your computer that accepts MIDI CC. When you connect any of our FBV pedals to an amplifier, the switch values are hard-coded to that particular amp.
You'd have to find a programmable MIDI Control/Switch device and use the MIDI input jack to do what you want. Or...
Save one of the 4 (A, B, C or D) patches to be the "boost" active patch. The Express would let you select that sound when you need that extra "push over the top". Otherwise, no you cannot program the FBV's using FBV Control software for use with an external amp, only software applications running on your host computer.
Sorry if you weren't aware of this before. Hopefully this clears things up.

Thank you for the quick response.
The problem with switching back and forth to a "boost" patch is the well known droupout of signal/delay. Plus I would still have to accurately hit the right switch for boost on and then boost off without looking down, I was hoping to program ALL the 4 switches to boost toggle so it would be hard to hit the wrong one on the fly...
I was pretty frustrated and angry at first but I think I have found a working solution for now, I put the volume pedal last in the Vetta signal chain and set the minimum volume for all patches I am using to 75%, it is pretty easy to find the volume pedal without looking down and the boost for solos comes in a little more naturally than boost toggling would have provided. I setup the A-D patches in the banks I am using to be all the same in case I accidentally hit a A-D switch when bumping the volume pedal ( I think I will make a small cover for the switches so this never happens) , plus now I can access all those great Vetta wah pedals if I ever want to... ![]()
SO I got solo boost, a bunch of wahs, and a tuner that I don't have to walk over to my amp to use in the middle of a show all for only $100... not bad Line 6, although the product didn't really do what I understood it would (a programmable midi cc controller that I can't use to directly control a midi device made by the same company...? Oh, theoretically I can if I bring a computer along to shows to patch in between my pedal controller and my amp hahahaha ) I am still looking for a better solution but I am pretty happy with the way things are working in my rig right now.
I see some others here had similar questions about this product and received similar disappointing answers, had I researched the product on this site beforehand I would seen the bad news in advance and would never have purchased this product BUT it worked out okay in the end so... thanks...? ![]()
I bought the FBV at Guitar Center, I called first to ask if they had it in stock and they said "Of course!", I asked if they were sure it was an FBV EXPRESS MKII and they assured me it was... I rushed over and they handed me an ancient used FB, the one that works with POD 1.0/2.0 I think, they were selling it for $50 hahahaha turns out they were out of stock on the FBV Express and I had to order it for me, they didn't know ANYTHING about what the FBV could or couldn't do midi control- wise or whether the POD 2.0 footboard was compatable with the Vetta... maybe Line 6 could do a better job educating retailers on the capabilities of their complex line of not necessarily cross-compatable products... just sayin'...
