Very loud white noise spikes with UX2

Hi,
Just two tracks playback in Cubase (no plug ins used) causes huge white noise spikes an high frequency skweaks. I got a blue screen while adjusting the UX2 settings. This is very disappointing Line6! You let me wait since October 2009 fotr a supported W7 driver and now it seams it's no better than the beta version.
Thanks for your help.

Message was edited by: PimSchilperoort I found out that with GearBox activated, the CPU use in Cubase decreases with 25% and drop outs are ocurring less. I borrowed a RME Fireface USB from a friend and that runs very smooth on my pc. My Edirol UA-25EX runs also very good. It's my believe that my computer is working well and that the problem of the white noise spikes, drop outs and high frequency skweaks are related to the Line6 UX2.
I forgot to mention audio dropouts.
Hello,
If you have updated to the latest Windows driver (4.0.2.3) you will want to optimize your system for running audio. See the following links for more information:

If you need further assistance, please provide the following information:
• Line 6 Product:
• Flash memory, USB Firmware versions installed:
• Line 6 Monkey version installed:
• Line 6 Drivers version installed:
• Line 6 Application (i.e. Riffworks, Line 6 edit, Gearbox) software and version:
• Operating System version
• Is this a dual boot system? If yes, please list all applicable operating systems:
• CPU / Processor Type and Speed
• Amount of RAM
• USB Ports: (#, location, speed 1.0/2.0):
• USB Devices connected to on your system: (Including any HUBs):
• Security software installed on your system (anti-virus, pop-up blockers, firewalls):
• Audio recording programs on your system (i.e. Sonoma, Ableton, Cakewalk, Pro Tools, etc):
• Audio playback programs on your system (i.e. Real Player, Winamp, Itunes, WMP):
• Type of internet connection: Cable modem, DSL, satellite, dial up:
Please note: Line 6 does not support satellite or dial up internet service
General troubleshooting questions (choose N/A if it does not apply):
• Does Line 6 Monkey recognize your device?
• Have you reinstalled the drivers for this device directly from the Line 6 website for your OS?
• Are you connecting directly to a USB port on the back of your computer?
• Have you tried different USB cables and ports?
• Have you shut down all security software/other programs?
• Have you tried to replicate the problem on a different computer?
These links you provided do not show any information about how to tweak Windows 7. Do I have to tweak W7 as Vista?
My system as filed in my Line6 Support Profile :
HP Z400 Intel Xeon W3550 3.07gHz
Windows 7 64 bit
6Gig RAM
UX2 4.02.3 connected directly to USB (no hub)
Cubase 5
I performed the suggested tweaks to my computer. However the problem is not solved yet. Odd thing is that the Edirol UA-25EX runs fine on my PC with even smaller latency.
The white noise spikes are still there as are the audio drop outs. The 'squeaks' are almost gone due to the tweaking. I did all tests with two mono audio tracks without any plugins.
Update: I found out that with GearBox activated, the CPU use in Cubase decreases with 25% and drop outs are ocurring less. Odd...

Please give me some support Line6!
Hello? Anybody awake at Support? ![]()
@Line6: may I remind you that the driver which causes these problems is stated as "supported" by your company?
So: where's the support?
Hello,
We can do our best to try and reproduce this in house here. What's your recipe? IE: How are you able to reproduce this?
The more detail the better. Thanks.
Line6Miller
To reproduce this problem it doesn't matter if I use Cubase 5 (1,2,3 or 4 or more tracks with audio and midi) or Windows Mediaplayer or Flash player. When music/sound is audible, totaly at random the sound disapears and is replaced by VERY (I mean VERY) loud white noise.
Since the Gearbox 3.72 update it's not longer a 'spike' but a 'wall'; it lasts for ever until I switch off Cubase/Windows Media Player/Flash Player. I can not longer use my headphones when I want to record because of the possible hearing damage I might run into.
