Ok, several questions here...I have the X3L and have been very pleased with it. I have upgraded the firmware to 2.0
UPDATE
Found this which answered question #1 http://line6.com/community/thread/1600
Thanks,
Derek
Hi Derek
1. GearBox is the editing and stand-alone interface for the X3. POD Farm stand-alone will not work with the X3 or XT series at all. A comparison will do you no good, as POD Farm stand-alone won't work with the X3 anyway.
2. POD Farm plug-in is the recording plug-in that will work with your X3. The GearBox plug-in is not available for the X3. In order to activate all of the models, go into Line 6 Monkey and activate POD Farm. Use "refresh" (without quotes" as the activation code
3.That's up to you. Whay don't you try both to see what you like best. I would start by using the X3's ASIO drivers first though.
Thanks BigChas52....I really appreciate the help!
Derek
Dear,
I upgrade my X3L to version 2.0, but the pod farm doesn't recognize the 12 new effects. There are any way to do the pod farm recognize then?
Sorry for my english and thanks a lot.
I expect we'll have to wait for an update to Pod Farm so that it can recognize the new effects. Line 6 released an updated version of Gearbox to coincide with the X3 v2.0 release, but they haven't (yet?) done the same for Pod Farm. I haven't heard any confirmation that this is in the works, but I'm assuming it is.
