UX 8, OS X 4.6.8 drivers and Logic Pro 9.1... is there any way to get down to 32 samples?

Hi!

I am using the UX 8 as my audio interface with Logic 9.1 and my Mac Pro... I'm trying to get the best latency possible Logic plays flawlessly with Preferences set 64 samples, but when I try to bring it down to 32 samples, it will play OK for a moment, then get a bunch of static for a few moments, then play clearly again. I'm just using the ESX sampler to play back a midi file, so I'm not even doing full audio work...

David,

The lower the buffer size you set on your system, the more CPU is used to process your audio. If the buffers are set too low, you will hear pops and crackles in the audio. In this case you would need to raise the buffer setting to the next level for proper playback.

  I certainly don't have a problem with CPUs, I'm running a quad core Mac Pro, and the CPU meters are not even twitching... The crackling seems rather consistent, not random.
