Line 6 Edit for X3 Live question

So, a year ago when I moved from my XT to an X3, I used Line Monkey and Line 6 edit to move patches from the XT to the X3. In the time since, I have pretty much done everything from the control panel of the pedal board. So last week I updated the X3 and thought I would re-visit the computer side of this thing, only to find that Line 6 Edit doesn't list X3. Is there an update for Line 6 edit that will add X3 that I am missing? Is there something like Line 6 Edit that is specific to the X3? Anyway help me oput here as maybe I am just being a dummy and missing the obvious.
Oh yeah, when I saved my patches in Line Monkey and went to look at the file, it had the unassociated file icon attached to it, where old files had the Line 6 Edit icon. I goota be missin' somethin'.
Thanks,
Blessings, Strato
I believe GearBox is the only editing software that supports the X3 series. I haven't seen anything else.
I started to download Gearbox last night but after reading the notes, it didn't seem like it was describing a function like Line 6 Edit. I will re-visit Gearbox. I may have been suffering from download anxiety at that point last night!
Thanks bro,
Strato
Gearbox is "the" editor for X3L. Line 6 Edit will not work. I like the edit program setup better but because of the dual tones with the X3 they just created a new program instead of changing the Line 6 Edit program. It was probably easier. Any way you'll get used to it as the rest of us did.
Blessings.
The X3 Series has never supported Line6 Edit. So I don't know what you were doing besides using the Monkey when you were moving patches from the XT to the X3. When the X3 first came out there were many upset people because Edit no longer worked for the new unit. So Gearbox is all there is for editing the X3L. In fact we had to wait about 6 months to get it after the X3 was released. The Monkey was probably saving your patches as .x3m files and can only be accessed by opening in Gearbox (or the Monkey). An individual Dual Tone.x3m patches can only be opened by going through File > Dual Tone > Open in GB. The Tone Locker opens non Dual Tone (XT, etc.) files. Also, you would use the Open Bundle button on the Hardware Memory Window (upper left) to open a full X3(L) Bundle and it will load in the 128 slots you will see in this window.
The latest Gearbox pdf manual has some help for you about this as well as saving files and saving from Gearbox to your X3L, although it's kind of a conglomeration of all products that use Gearbox as well as a recording/Gearbox guide - so documentation is limited.
Hope this helps a little more.
The best I can recollect, I thought I used Line 6 Edit to save my XT patches then disconnected and plugged in the X3 and was able to drag tones out of edit and put them in the X3. I remember they didn't carry over as dual tone, and a couple of my delay settings didn't translate. I still have some of the old XT tones on my X3! Maybe in my ignorance, got lucky? I remember seeing a template with a list of the XT patches and a list of the X3 patches. I'll need to look on my laptop to see if I had a version of Gearbox in the accesories list with no icon on the desktop!
I am old and confused!!!!
Anyway onward to Gearbox.
Gracias again.
A note on the flash upgrade. The unit as a whole seemed to cut through the mix nicely under full load this Sunday AM! The bass player, who sits directly behind me did comment that I seemed louder than usual, I trimmed back my on stage amp as the soundperson, liked the volume and clarity.
More to follow I am sure!

Thanks all. I checked out the Gearbox Tutorial, and it is the bomb! I will download it in the next couple of days.
I'm not back up musically until Easter so I have a couple of weeks down time to fiddle around with it!
Blessings,
Strato.
