Effects Loop - Rack(s) not engaging

Hi, I have my POD XT Pro connect as a pre-amp to my amp and wish to connect the rest of my rack gear via the Effects Send / Return. I am getting the XT's effects tone through ok however none of the rack effects are engaging i.e. no effect? I have check that I am connecting the cables correctly i.e. Send in to the input of the first rack unit, and back in to return from the last etc. I have also ensured that the FX loop is set to series. Can you help please? Thanks, Jon

      Can you please provide detail as to exactly how you have everything connected?  Please detail which exact inputs and output you are using from each device and where each is connected to?

       

      My suggestion would be:

       

      PODxt PRO output ->rack effects input-> Rack effects output-> poweramp (?) input
