Spider Valve Edit - are all the bugs worked out of it - can't get it to work!!

Ok, so I have reinstalled line6 monkey, updated by spider valve to 1.50 and downloaded spider valve edit (removed and reinstalled again) yet I can't get the edit to work.  The program opens but all I can see down the left hand column is 1. Default A, Default B etc etc.  I have tried to load tones via customtone, but again this only this starts to open partially and no more.  I have performed factory resets on both the amp and the FBV shortboard mk2.

I'm I missing something or any suggestions anyone??

Someone earlier mentioned this problem but discovered the solution was simply taking the amp of standby ... not sure if this is your issue or not.

        Hi

You shouldn't have to take your Spider Valve MkII out of standby (no harm in trying it though with the Master Volume down to zero) because all turning standy on does is to switch on the high voltage supply to the valves.  I updated mine in Standby and have repeatedly run Spider Valve MkII Edit with the amp in Standby in XP Pro 32 bit, Windows Vista 64 bit and Windows 7 64 bit with no problems.  What OS is your computer running?   How are you connecting your Spider Valve MkII to Spider Valve MkII Edit?  If USB, can you try MIDI instead or vice-versa?  It looks like a software conflict from what you've said so far.  Have you got a lot of non-essential applications loading with the OS that you could stop - at least temporarily to try and find out if any of them are blocking Spider Valve Edit?   Internet Security software - some of this stuff can be a real pain in the rear and place blocks on certain applications for no good reason.  If working at home only behind a decent ADSL firewall router, the Windows Firewall and the firewall in your router are sufficient provided you use the Internet sensibly and treat all unsolicited email as suspicious.  AVG Free anti-virus provides a more than decent level of protection against viruses - and it's free!! there are others that claim to be better and you pay for them, but no anti-virus software is completely 100% effective anyway.  AVG doesn't tend to interfere with other applications.  Parental Control software is something that can interfere with running other applications. Provided Monkey can see your FBV MkII pedal and your SV MkII then that would suggest communications between the computer and Line 6 devices is good.   You could try re-flashing the Spider Valve MkII firmware update again (v1.50) in case for some reason it didn't 'take' properly the first time.  Try reinstalling Spider Valve MkII Edit - be sure that you haven't installed Spider IV Edit by mistake - sorry if that sounds patronising - it isn't meant to be, but they do look very similar!

        Nick.

True ... you shouldn't have to but lately their seems to be lotsa "shouldn't have to" issues with peoples MkII's

I thought it odd when other fella chalked it up to standy being on ...perhaps his issue was no sound ...as he did admit to being brainless in his next post in response to his own question lol.

AVG is what I use and Zone Alarm ...and mine installed fine without changing settings ..though zone alarm will ask for approval in a popup window.
