Errors when I try to open any L6T file from customtone.com for X3L

Now that Snow Leopard is finally supported......
I have downloaded some patches from customtone.com and none of them will open in gearbox in offline mode. They are from different people so i cannot imagine it is corrupt multiple files.
MacBook Pro 4GB
Snow Leopard 10.6.2
Monkey 1.33
Gearbox 3.71
Drivers 4.6.8
it's been a while since I have tried to do this, but double clicking or "File/Open"... allways gives me an error.
I downloaded 6 tones and they all do the same
any ideas?

Are you sure the downloaded tones are described in CustomTone as being X3-compatible? There are many differnt types of *.l6t files, and many (most?) are not compatible with the X3.
Hi Silverhead,
Thanks, but yeah they are from the X3 section.
I have loaded XT ones in the past with out any issues when using an PodXT, Pod XTLive and then the PodX3 Live and just tried again and get exactly the same error.
but this error is only since I have been trying now I am officially supported, not been able to do anything like this for over six months.
I also tried the Lincon Brewster X3 bundle an get "Unable to Load file", though on his site it says you do it with monkey...so not sure if you should be able to open this l6t into gearbox.

HMMMMM!
Tried to replicate the issue on a windows 7 box (32bit) with all the latest versions.
and I get exactly the same, I downloaded the same files from custom tone and some others. They were downloaded from a completely different location/ISP etc
is this an issue with having GearBox in offline mode? I am sure it never used to be.
Or is it an issue with GearBox 3.71?

I tried to open the files in PodFarm (on Windows 7) in offline mode and they open fine.
But obviously I can load them onto the Pod X3
tried this as it would make sense....

did not work for me.

looks like lots of other people are having the same issue...
I had a quick look and there does not seem to be any answer or comment from Line6 other than requesting more information and one post saying they have reproduced the problem and passed it on.
but no solution.
Feeling like 1 step forward 2 steps back, the drivers are released for Snow Leopard.....but it still does not work.
looking at GearBox and PodFarm they do not say they are supported on Snow Leopard or Windows 7..... so back to square 1.
Glad I jumped ship to another manufacturer for my audio interface, at least I have been able to record for the last 4 months!

Right......looks like it is the Offline Mode.
as soon as I connected the X3L I could open the files fine.
So looks like opening L6T files in offline is broken.
I hope it is just a bug and not a feature that has been removed as that would make the offline mode useless.

Note that Gearbox v3.7.2 was just released today, Win 7 and Snow Leopard compatible. Maybe it will have the offline mode fixed?
DOH!
As soon as I close down my computer! LOL
Just downloading now to give it a try.
thanks for the tip off!

Hello,
Are you able to load these tones into other Line 6 gear? What other Line 6 software (i.e. Line 6 edit, Vyzex editor, POD Farm, etc.) do you currently have installed? We tried to reproduce this situation but we could not. Please provide a sample of the tones that are failing to load, and let us know exactly how the POD X3 is connected to your system.
HI Andy,
The issue seems to be when you open any l6t file OFFLINE in GearBox, ie you do not have anyhting connected.
I can open files in PodFarm offline and it works as expected.
I can open the files in GearBox if I plug in the PodX3 Live so in ONLINE mode it works fine.
Interestingly I just tried it in OFFLINE mode, but specified the OFFLINE mode to work as if a KB37 was connected and it worked fine, then I tried again in OFFLINE with PODX3 Live selected (not connected though) and I get the error.
OK!!.. Just done some more testing and I get the following results.
If you open the same l6t file in OFFLINE mode and select the following hardware you get the following:-
Any Pod X3 based product - you get the error above
Any Pod XT Based Product - you get an error about the selected interface is not available, but the tone loads as you would expect and you can see the settings
Any TonePort Based Product - Works as you would expect
So it seems to be an issue with the PodX3 side of things only.
Hope that helps.
Cheers

FWIW, I can repro this, too.
user is trying to load a patch in GBox without any hardware connected (!?!)
