Tone Port DI Silver doesn't Show up in Monkey

Hello,

I just got a Tone Port DI Silver today and it's awesome. There is a problem though. When I run the Monkey it doesn't come up as an option in the hardware section, only a PODxt. So when I try to do something such as activate the Metal Pack I purchased it tells me that there is no device connected. Did I just waste $50?

Thanks, Chris

RE: Tone Port DI Silver doesn't Show up in Monkey

    Hello Chris,

I took a look at your account and saw a few things:

      1. You did register a true TonePort DI-Silver hardware device. I'm stating this publicly because we do offer what is called the TonePort DI-Bundled (which is a totally stripped-down DI and has no other built-in upgrades available).

In your case, the DI-Silver receives a free update/upgrade to the equivalent of a TonePort DI-Gold unit, meaning you'll have all amp model packs (including the Metal Shop). Because of this, I went ahead and...

      2. Returned the $49 license for Metal Shop you purchased (but hadn't installed into your DI-Silver yet), so you should see a credit amount in 3-4 business days reflected on your credit card statement.

      Now #3.

      3. It sounds like you were having a connectivity issue between the DI-Silver and your host computer, since you weren't able to install the license earlier. The solution for this is:

      A. Don't use a USB hub device (because this will prevent full connectivity.

      B. Test all direct USB ports on your host computer with this DI-Silver unit. You have POD Farm 1.11 software installed according to your download history, so that version of Monkey is current enough to auto-recognize your hardware device, assuming that the hardware device doesn't have a hardware issue internally.

      C. Try a different USB cable.

Somewhere in one of these last options, hopefully you'll find a port on your computer that allows Monkey to auto-recognize the DI-Silver. If and when you find that port, run Monkey. Go to Optional/Add-Ons. Find a button "Activate Features" and click it.

At least try these suggestions and let us know where things stand. We won't be available on weekends, so if you can't get back to us before 5PM today, we'll be back on Monday at 8AM (California Time) to see your feedback.

      Regards,

      L6Perry
