Pod X3 Live Dial Not Working

Just recently my Pod X3 Live has developed a problem with the drive dial.  When I turn it, the value seems to 'skip' all over the place, e.g. when turning it clockwise, it will jump from 10% to 90% and then back to 20%.  Even though I dont have the dial on 90%, it will still show this on the display.  Only a couple of minutes ago I've realised that the dial is starting to die out, it won't recognise the setting I have it on at all.

I've had the unit for quite a while (since Dec 2007) so it's definitely not under warranty.  I was wondering if there is anyway I could rectify the problem myself by opening up the unit?  I believe it could be fixed easily by replacing or cleaning the potentiometer.

Thanks,

Carl.

What you describe sounds like a bad pot and should be taken to an authorized service center:

But if you wan to attempt to fix it yourself, it will be at your own risk of damaging anything else as we cannot provide you with parts or repair manuals.

nobody wants their stuff to break so i'm sorry to hear you are having trouble... but 100 pounds to fix a 500 pound unit is not that unreasonable... i mean you already got 2-3 years out of it... its still current gear has a new update that adds effects etc...

even if you are ready for something new... fix for 100, sell for 300.... have an extra 200 towards the next thing..

        anyway.. just offering another perspective.
