Less signal from right direct out

Hello everybody,
It may seem a bit decadent, but I bought a second X3L the other day for back up purposes in live situations.
First thing I did was the update procedure for the new flash memory
and then I loaded my latest bundle (the same one as in my first X3L). I checked all the settings and the master volume knob etc. to make sure both of the units have the same settings.
However, no matter what I do, the right direct out produces much less signal then the left. ![]()
Maybe there's something simple I miss here.
Anybody any clues?
Ironically, the new unit seems to be faulty!
There goes my solid back up plan. ![]()

Hi again!
Well, I had to change the unit, cause besides the faulty direct out, it also had problems with the master volume knob and an over sensitive clip indicator.
So I received a brand new one, straight from the Line6 depot/factory, still in the shipping box.
Check up, registration, test, update process, loaded my latest bundle, everything worked fine!
So I carefully mounted the new POD in its road case.
I have a lot of gigs and a theater tour coming up, so I was really happy to have a solid back up.
However, there seems to be a problem again.
This morning I started work on some new Variax / X3L patches for the upcoming tour.
The new X3L does not 'see' my Variax. I've got all the inputs right (Variax, Guitar / Variax), but no sound.
The tuner does not react on an incoming signal, neither does Workbench when I start it up with the POD and the Variax connected through USB (it says it can't see the Variax)
I swapped the units and with my old POD everything works fine.
Perhaps I forgot something, drivers?
Anybody any clue?
My first POD X3L has never giving me any problems and I still use it a lot cause I'm still very happy with all the possibilities it offers.
I've always defended the X3L when people were criticizing it for its 'vulnerability' or some of the other known issues.
But I'm getting really tired of this now. Is it really reasonable to receive two faulty new units in a row?
Funny enough I was thinking that the newer units would likely to be more trustworthy, since the button issue and the USB drop out issue seemed to have been addressed.
Maybe I'm still forgetting about something, or doing something wrong, but I fear I have to send this one back too.
That would be a shame.
