It all depends on what your needs are. You plan on recording a dum kit? You'll need at least 4 inputs minimum. Areyou going to record anyvocals? You'll need a condencer mic and that means a mic input with 48v phantom power. Write down your needs and start searching. I use a Echo Layla 24 with my desktop DAW and a Line 6 UX8 with my HP laptop and my MacBook Pro laptop.
Really appreciate that, thank you. Mixcarft has a sister program called Beatcraft and I make my drum beats there. I dont want a full studio just want to lay down my own tracks one at a time. Usually I get the drum beat completed and plonk it ina mixcraft track, then lay down a rythmn guitar track, than the the bass track and lastly any lead frills and background stuff.
My question sort of revolves around whether there has been any appreciable advances from the Tascam us122, they are several years old now and I wonder if they could be a bit limited.
No problem. Does your Tascam still sound good? My Echo Layla 24 is from 1998 and still sounds great.I love the fact that Echo Audio still updates the drivers for it even tho they don't make them any more. I wouldd't upgrade unless you really need to. The POD Studio UX1 or the POD Studio UX2 are sething you might want to check out on the product page on this site. I think youigjt like them.
I dont seem to be able to get as much volume into the track as I'd like. Bit prone to hissing if I go a bit high and I am not exactly sure how to set the settings as I dont have a manual. sort of thought a new beginning might help.
Check the Boss web site for the PDF version of the manual. It should be there.
Boss??? What are you smokin', geeker? Give me some.
Tascam........ Sorry......... I was thinking of my Boss pedalboard...lol
I dont have a manual
No manual? Whatever shall you do? Oh, wait, there's google.

Seriously, dude, if google's too hard for you to figure out, just give up on recording. It's like a 100 times harder than using google. ![]()
Some people like to interact with other people for their opinion..... That's why he didn't google it ........ Maybe........
Thanks for that cynical reply Mate. I actually got called away and didn't finish what I was going to say.
Line 6 products aren't a 'good alternative' to anything.
