Recording at home.

I am thinking about upgrading from my Tascam US122. What is a good alternative?

It all depends on what your needs are. You plan on recording a dum kit? You'll need at least 4 inputs minimum. Areyou going to record anyvocals?  You'll need a condencer mic and that means a mic input with 48v phantom power. Write down your needs and start searching. I use a Echo Layla 24 with my desktop DAW and a Line 6 UX8 with my HP laptop and my MacBook Pro laptop.

No problem. Does your Tascam still sound good? My Echo Layla 24 is from 1998 and still sounds great.I love the fact that Echo Audio still updates the drivers for it even tho they don't make them any more. I wouldd't upgrade unless you really need to. The POD Studio UX1 or the POD Studio UX2 are sething you might want to check out on the product page on this site. I think youigjt like them.

Line 6 products aren't a 'good alternative' to anything.
