Tick - Tock.. whats that noise?

Friends,
I am going crazy trying to figure out the solutin to this problem.
Ever since I bought the X3 Live Pod I have noticed this sound that for no reason starts playing
in the background on my speakers.
If you visit my web site at: www.counter-point.us/temp/noise.mp3 and download the 10 second mp3
file, listen to it tell me what your thoughts are.
Now, I have done some trouble-shooting on this which this is what I have found. There has to be some sort of interference
or setting on the pod that is making this weird sound.
If I have the pod x3 acting all by itself, not attached to the computer via usb, left/right output disconnected, monitors
turned off and computer - the noise still persists..
Anyone would like to jump in and help, I would appreciate it.
Thank You,
Tvos
Hi Tvos,
That sounds similar (although not exactly the same) as what I was getting.
Does it happen on only one patch? Might the patch be the 'criminal' patch?
If so, check Tone2 and dial down/remove the 'bubble echo'.
This is a known issue (namely has been posted before on this forum) with the Criminal patch.
You don't need to have dual tones on to have the sound come through. There is clearly some algorithmic interaction between tone 1 and tone 2, even when one has only tone 1 selected.
Hope this helps.

Hans,
I did just that and it did remove the ticking sound. However, this would occur with any preset not just criminal.
I also isolated the device indepdently by itself w/o connecting to anything, in a room by itself and I will get that echo.
If I disable this tone 2 and don't hear the clicking - does this effect playback with music, mp3s, videos traveling thru the
processor? Also, if I want to use tone 2 for other presets - will this affect that as well?
Please advise,
Tvos
I had a similar (though not exactly the same) type of sound. Mine was a distinct and regular ticking. In my case it turned out to be interference from, of all things, the charger on my PDA. What I did to identify that there was an interference problem was to try the unit in a differnt location (in my case just a different room in the house). At least you could eliminate interference as the issue and can concentrate on setting changes as the possible solution.
Sorry, I am a complete plank, I didnt notice that you said that you had tried isolating the unit. Ignore my previous message.
I get a very similar noise if I'm playing with my mobile phone in my front pocket...
