Pod Farm Platinum: standalone crippled

Hi All,
I bought the Gearbox Silver at a local dealer.
Did the whole install/upgrade/license refresh/Hail Mary procedure.
Result:
Gearbox VST = all models working
Gearbox standalone = all models working
Pod Farm Platinum VST = all models working
Pod Farm Platinum standalone = only basic models working
I really need Pod Farm Platinum standalone working.
It's the sole reason I bought Gearbox Silver.
I've been tinkering around for hours; no luck.
Any suggestions?
Hello,
Sorry about the misunderstanding... you cannot run POD Farm software in "standalone" mode with an iLok key.
http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-4780
The iLok license is for unlocking the ability to run the VST/AU/RTAS Plug-In effect, but requires the host DAW method of launching the POD Farm effect.
Since you have both UX2 and TonePort DI-Silver units, you've used the POD Farm software in standalone mode with these two USB devices. But I think the confusion stemmed from you believing that iLok keys allow for standalone POD Farm functionality... sorry, they don't.
Now, since you do have a TonePort DI-Silver, make sure it's the only Line 6 USB device connected to your system (remove iLok and UX2, if applicable). Run Line 6 Monkey. Go to Optional/Add-Ons page. See if there isn't an "Activate Features" button on the right somewhere. If so, click it. If not, click "Activate" type the word 'refresh' (lower-case, no quotes ' '). Click Activate again.
You should see all amp models with green check mark after this procedure is completed. Close Monkey. Close POD Farm (if it was running before). Upon re-launch all models should be available with the DI-Silver USB device connected in standalone mode.
But iLoks alone will not launch POD Farm Standalone.

Thank you for the quick reply.
Actually I do NOT own an iLok key.
I only have the TonePort DI plugged into my system.
**Update:
Now, actually I have the OPPOSITE problem.
Standalone works and all Platinum models appear.
But Pod Farm is crippled as a VST plugin Ableton; only basic models appear.
I'm using Windows 7. Is this a known support issue?
I've been at this for hours and it's quite frustrating.
Ultimately I want to have all Platinum models transferred to my UX2.
But I can't see any Pod Farm Platinum license on my licensing page.
Okay, I've figured out this much: I cannot use the Gearbox DI as a dongle
while also using the UX2 as a mic preamp. Apparently this confuses the authorization.
That's apparently why my Platinum models keep randomly disappearing.
I'd like to transfer my license from the Gearbox DI to my UX2, but I cannot find
any licenses listed for the Gearbox DI. Any ideas?
The licenses come hard coded to the GearBox DI. They cannot be transferred to your UX-2.
So essentially it's completely useless for what I bought it for (live guitar and vocals using both inputs of the UX2).
I really like the UX2 hardware; it's light, low-latency, and has phantom powered mic ins.
What if I had installed the Gearbox CD using my existing UX2 instead of the bundled DI?
The local dealer is selling off Gearbox Silver at a cut rate so it's almost worth buying it again just to see.
Line 6 people? Can I buy (another) retail Gearbox Silver and 'latch' the validation to my UX2 instead of the DI?
1. It doesn't matter what you install from. The DI and UX2 both work off of the same GearBox install. BTW, do not use the disk that came with the DI. It is obsolete. Download GearBox from the web site instead.
2. As I previously stated, the licenses are hard coded into the DI. They cannot be transferred to the UX-2
3. If you need all of the models on your UX-2, try this instead. http://line6.com/store/offer/multipackmadness3 Line 6 is running a $99 sale on the ultimate expansion bundle through March 31st.
Thanks for the suggestion -- good to know. Wish I'd caught wind of it before I bought the DI-S.
Does Multi Pack Madness contain everything that's in Pod Farm Platinum?

Yup. Don't take it so hard though. The DI Silver is a great investment as a backup. I just bought one on eBay this week to use as a backup. I do a fair amount of overnight travel. I plan on taking a cheap guitar with me (I would be afraid to leave one of my main axes in a hotel room), and plugging into my laptop through the DI. ![]()
Yeah, the Silver will probably come in handy. Heck, I only paid sixty bucks for it.
Surprisingly though, while the UX2 is about three times the size of the DI, the UX2 is about the same weight or even lighter. It really is a handy interface.
So I will probably grab the Multi Pack for my UX2 as you suggested. Cheers.
+1 to BigChas52's responses.
