  I did my best to offer an educated guess as to what you were experiencing based on the very limited amount of information you originally provided. Sorry that my first answer to you didn't seem helpful to you, but I tried my best based on what you wrote.

  I had no idea that your experience with MIDI devices were as extensive as you clarified. Also, now that you've provided more information what you've experienced makes more sense.

  Glad to hear that the function works again. Just hope that you realize that trying to answer questions online is harder to do when we can't see or know what has or hasn't been done on the user's end yet. We do try our best, though. Hope you're enjoying the program.

Here is what is really happening. I realize this is an old post but I just ran in to this my self. And line6 support staff should know about this. don't apologize to them. They're always worthless. Anyway, The midi learn function in pod farm 2 is badly designed. it works fine with USB midi but if you have any real midi pin connectors plugged in and turned on in PF2 it will register a midi message with no cc like in the picture above, even if the pin connector is plugged into a usb midi interface. This is because real midi connections send a constant signal that the computer listens to waiting for a cc or note message. PF2 hears this blank signal and registers it as the intended message. If you watch the screen printed above as you are attempting to assign a midi control you can see this happen. PF2 does not wait for you to move a knob or button, it assigns the blank message almost instantly. The solution to this is in two parts.1, turn off any real midi ports in the PF2 preferences before trying to learn ay midi commands. the second part aplies to anyone using a midi controller that has no usb and can only work trough a pin connector, in my case the Roland fc300. Notice earlier I said that the blank midi message is assigned "almost instantly" What you have to do to assign  a controller like this is click on midi learn, and as quickly as you can move the control you wish to assign. Note, don't try to do these two actions simultaneously. the two actions must fast but separate and distinct. less than half a second between them. This will not work every time, you will have to experiment with the timing, and clear the blank message and start again when it misses. This is imperfect and kind of a pain but it will work. Hope this helps the next guy who runs into this. Oh and Line 6, please fix this.
