Line inpust on my POD X3 PRO are noisy?

Hi guys,

I tried to record a clean (unprocessed) guitar signal and re-amp it with my POD X3 PRO - but it sounds very noisy!!!

My recording SW ist Cubase SX and my sound card is a midimann ltd 1010.

My recordingsettings are:

--> guitar signal into the "guitar in 1" on my POD

--> the "unprocessed out 1" direct to an analouge input of the midimann

--> the "processed out 1 and 2" (amp: treadplate-high gain, no other effects) to another analouge inputs of the midiman

--> I recorded a riff (3 chanels: one unprocessed, two processed)

--> I playedback the rocorded riff and the unpocessed track sounds absolute clean and clear (without any noise) and the processed tracks sounds as I setted it up

--> then I routed the unprocessed track to an analouge output of the midimann and futher I linked that output to the "line input 1" on my POD

--> I took the same guitar sound as before, I only changed the input on my POD from "guitar 1" to "line input 1"

--> I playedback the recorded riff (only the unprocessed signal) and recorded the new (re-amped) processed out from the POD

--> When I compare the two recorded processed out signals I can hear a definite difference! The first recorded signal (as I mentioned before) sounds as I setted it up and the

re-amped signal is noisy!!!!

What am I doing wrong? Please help me!

Many thanks

Reinhard

just for simplicity's sake... why not use the x3 as your interface and use the usb inputs?

    this may solve your issue...

    just an idea though....
