Anyone using dual tone on stage through a single amp?

Does anyone use dual tones for heavier music (think punk/hardcore or metal) and how has that worked for you? Any tips to share?
I'm considering using dual tone but am concerned the sound will become cluttered especially since I won't be able to use stereo and it will all go through one amp.
I've been thinking about maybe trying two similar amp models like a dual and tripple rectifier or a dual and one of the marshal models.
Well if there is a soundcheck before the gig set it up with dual tone, get someone to play it (unless you have looper or line6 backtrack) whilst you go stand in front and give it a listen, then decide whether you're gonna use it or not depending on what it sounds like.
All my patches are dual tone patches. I do not play "heavy" music by any means, but you must bear in mind that so many tracks that you know and love are actually two or more amps blended together, or at minimum, double tracks using different guitars or mic placement, on the same amp. It is the blending of the two passes, where the natural variation by the player or the different guitars, or the different mic placement, gives the track a bigger sound than what can be accomplished with one track.
The X3 Live allows you to take advantage of the same thing - dial up two heavy guitar sounds and blend them together to create a wall of sound you can't get otherwise.
Experiment and enjoy.
I actually do use a dual tone through 1 amp and it works great for me. I actually blend a Diezel Son and a Line 6 Insane. The Deizel gives me the low end I am searching for and the Insane gives me those mids I need!
Hey thanks for the tip. I used those two amp models together for a Daughtry song we covered this past weekend and it worked out great. We have two recordings of the band playing it - one at the beginning of our service, and one at the end as people were walking out. Here are the links. The first one has the guitars panned alot better and I am playing lead in the right channel. I think my solo in the second recording is better, but maybe a little more difficult to hear clearly, since the panning was not as severe and my guitar is not as loud in the mix compared to the rhythm guy (who is also singing).
Hope you enjoy, and thanks again for cluing me in on that combination of Diezel and Insane.
