Ok guys after owning your m13's and m9's awhile what expression pedal do you recommend I buy. Do you recommend also having 2 of them? Please let me know how you guys have made out with different pedals. Thanks
I have a Roland EV-5 and I would advise you to never ever purchase this pedal. I got it on e-bay for about $30, which is 40 cheaper than you can buy it in the stores, and is still far too much money for this piece of junk. First of all, it's plastic and I know it's going to break very soon (I've had it for about 2 weeks). It also doesn't sweep right. It finishes the sweep when it's about 75% of the way back towards the heel position, so you'll start sweeping from heel to tow and it'll do nothing, then just jump on you and catch you off guard. It also seems to be wired backwards for working with the M13. I mean it still works, but you have to re-set all the defaults to go the other way. Like with Volume for example, the factory defaults on the M13, when used with the EV-5, have the heel position as being full volume and the toe being no volume.
I have seen other people talk about Mission Engineering pedals. I plan on buying one very soon. I put a link at the bottom of this post, and about 5 pedals down on that page, they actually have one specifically designed for Line 6 products and have a video demoing the thing with an M13. On top of that, it's in the same casing as a Dunlop Cry Baby so you know it's rock solid. I can't say for sure that it's great because I haven't actually tried one myself, but I have heard lots of positive reviews and after using the Roland EV-5, I can tell you that there's very little shot that it could possibly be worse than that pedal.

hey kornflake I can't thank you enough for being honest and giving a fair review on your pedal. You have saved me money for sure,i was looking at that roland too. I am going to purchase one of the mission pedals for sure, I will report back when I have played with it and give a full review. I am sure there are folks who are already using them but I haven't seen anything on here. I am still trying to get used to this forum, I have alot of difficulty trying to find posts and things I have posted let alone other people's. The format seem's wierd to me, like you have to do 3 things to accomplish onel. I'm rambling now, sorry, thanks again for review and heads up
No problem godinbluesman. Good luck with your pedal search.
I bought the mission pedal designed for L6. It was 105.00 dollars plus 15.00 to ship it. Comes in black and looks great. I watched the demo and was impressed. There are a couple of points on the pedal where you can tweak it as well. I am looking forward to trying it out, might buy a 2nd if it works out. I think that the price is a little high just because I know the components inside are dirt cheap to buy and build yourself, your paying for the metal chassis and the fact that there is no competetion right now for a solid pedal. I already own a dunlop crybaby that I have setup before my m13, so I think my new pedal will work great for everything else I need. I am still learning and making new sounds everyday with this unit, I love it and have no regrets. I think most who don't like it, don't know how to use it. When I first recieved mine I was hating it until I started learning the tricks and ways of doing things. Thanks again, I can't wait to give a review on new pedal. Btw I sold 2 other pedals I had for a combined price of 170.00 on ebay so it worked out awesome and I still have some dough left to get some tubes. Peace
I am selling my Mission EP1-L6 pedal in Red. If anyone is interested I can send pics via email. Mint condition - in original box. $90 shipped/ paypalled.
spakuloid did you not like the pedal or did you get rid of your m13/9? I just bought one in black for 105 last night and 15 for shipping. If you still have it after I try mine out, I will pm you. I don't want to buy 2 of them without trying it out first. I can't imagine not liking it though, looks solid and the sweep sounds great. I likey the red color too. How did you like it?
I may offer a lone voice of support for the EX-1 here. I've had two of them on my pedalboard for nearly ten years now, and I've not had any issues with them. Actually, they've outlived many other pedals, lol! I know they aren't what I'd describe as "heavy duty" by any means, but they do what I need them to do. I guess if I were actually using the wah on the M13 or really rocking the pedal back and forth a lot, I'd probably get one of the Mission Engineering pedals. For now I'm happy with EX-1.
I actually do have one Mission Engineering product. I have there little XPB on this page that I use with my M9. I have it mounted right on the edge of my board, and I'm able to turn it with my foot. It's works well for what I use it for.
Apart from the firmname label the Bespeco VM16L looks and feels exactly the same as the Line6 ex-1. Both work OK.
