Spider III 120 cutting out and back on

I know this  is in another thread, but I wanted to post my problems and what I have did so far.

I bought my Spider from Musicans Mriend and recieved it last night late and didnt have time to try it, but I did today since im off work.

It plays for about 3-4 minutes then the channel pops on and off ever half a sec or so, but the lcd stays lit though and some lights and the tab button flashes, so I thoguht it was a power issue.

But if I  Hold the tap button on 2 sec, I think I am supossed to get the tuner, and there is supossed to be no sound? but, it goes to a clean channel with no controls, volume, ect, it stays about half volume.

but it does not click or anything it stays on. so I take it, it is not a power issue since it stays on.

I have reset it and it still does the same thing, so I am thinking it could be a switting issue in the curcuit mabe getting hot and resetting?

Is there a fix for this, or do I need to return it, it sounds great for the little time i get to use it.

Could it be a firmware problem? can i hook this up to my pc and flash it if it is?

Any help is greatly apprciated.

I would suggest that you check your household current with a volt meter just to make sure it is steady...most likely it is...This is NOT how they are suppose to work...You just got it...Exchange it...

Here the problem demonstrated in a Spider III. I show which part is the root of the problem. It's a very difficult job to replace the part itself which is only $20. The problems is, to replace the board Line 6 wants about $160!   The problem is the Digital Signal processor.

Search for the YouTube video "Demonstration of and solution to an intermittent problem with a Line 6 Spider III amplifier"
