Delays with Korean Guitars

Just been informed by my dealer that supply of the the Korean guitars has been delayed due to a sourcing problem for the bridges.

My delivery date for a JTV-59 has been put back from 25th August to "whenever they get here - we can't tell you when that will be".

As you can imaging I'm gutted - I anticipated a very enjoyable weekend with a new guitar.

Does anyone have any more info. on the delays?

When I put my JTV59 pre-order in back in Jul, I heard the date would be October-ish (which I took to mean November). When a couple folks heard it would be sooner, I was happy but skeptical (after all, how often do new things arrive sooner than you originally expected?). So, I'm patiently waiting for either a official Line6 announcement, or a tracking notice from Purolator.

I'm in Canada, so I expect I might not even get one out of the first commercial NA shipment (another reason for me to exercise calm about release dates). I see more JTV excitement from the UK music stores on the web than the US ones, so maybe the UK will be getting the royal treatment (God save the Queen, and all that) in terms of first delivery.

Well just to add to the tension and speculation...you know that sound when the high E string is being tightened beyond Youngs modulus..eeeeeee****!!! ping!

Thomanns ( Europe) are still sticking to the  23rd September 2010 delivery for their JTV69 korea shipment.

I'll believe it when I see it,and got it safe in my sticky hands...

    Hi

I don't have any more info, but 25th August seems to me to have been very optimistic on the part of your dealer.  Pretty much everything I've seen written whether it be optimistic speculation or something else has seemed to point to mid September onwards for release and even that may be optimistic - although like you I'm itching to get my new JTV59

Good luck and I hope you get your guitar soon (and me...)

    regards

    Nick

I spoke to a dealer on Saturday. I was wanting to order a JTV59 Tobacco - he said that the delivery had been put back to mid October and that there had been a price revision on the Korean models. He claimed that info came directly from Line 6 Daventry office. Can anyone confrim?

I had heard about the delay from reading those bits on one of these JTV threads, but I had not heard or read anything anywhere about a "price revision".  Are the prices being reivsed higher or lower?

And would anyone know if this "revision" is the same here in the USA on the retail sales front??  And if so, higher or lower??

Not to upset the Line 6 staff working on this, but in my humble opinion - I think all of these bits of info about delivery delays, pricing changes or anything else regarding the status of guitars that are in production with pre-orders being accepted...should ALL be coming from Line 6 FIRST, not from various retailers, distributors, etc.  Since it HAS TO BE that someone or whatever department is directly in charge of production from Line 6 knows these facts before anyone else should or could possibly know.

This info should be immediately posted ASAP by someone speaking from Line 6.  Whether this be Rich R. or his in-house Sales guy, or whomever.  Perhaps a dedicated thread started by Line 6 for these bits of info as they occur?  I know a thread like this has been started by one of "us".  But an official one like the "Welcome to" thread started by L6Angela, etc. might be better?  But this thread doesn't leave options for comments or any postings other than those from Line 6 regarding any change in status of any kind regarding the JTV.

Rich has his Blog and perhaps this info will simply show up there, but I think keeping something like this as just a notice board instead of discussion forum would be the simplest for anyone seeking these answers.  Just a suggestion and my opinion - nothing more.

If the definition from an not-completely-accurate source such as Wiki-anything, maybe try a real Websters dictionary?...but thanks for thinking of me.  However, I'm familiar with the term and I'm sorry to inform you that it does not apply in any way to what I wrote.  Perhaps find another analogy for what I wrote, or even better re-read what I wrote so you might have better understanding why "going off half-cocked" does not apply in this case?

I will presume that you do not agree that Line 6 representatives should be the ones who are first in posting any change in production or pricing?  You think it is better that consumers learn these details from other sources?  Since that is the simplest form of what I wrote, you might be now able to see why your choice of saying is inaccurate.  It is also why I think you did not fully comprehend what I was writing about as well.

"In all things the key to understanding is the ability to reason."  Are ya familiar with this old saying?

All the best as always - you're a good man whom I respect.

          Take care,

          Neal
