I have also bad sound problems with Toneport (UX2) drivers and Win 7 64bit. There's very loud long noise bursts and smaller pops&clicks when using Toneport as normal windows soundcard or using it with Podfarm. Noise bursts are so loud that I'm afraid to use use Toneport with headphones. Noise is similar than if you put radio in full volume and turn the channel off (loud white noise), and its from 10 seconds to few minutes long. It occurs sometimes every 5-10 minutes but once in couple of hours at least.
I checked with DPC Latency Checker and there is no latency spikes. I tried also older Win 7 64bit drivers, but the problem is the same. I checked also all usb ports and Wlan on&off, and all the tips and tricks mentioned in the Line6's support documents.
Edit: I forgot to mention that white noise burst stops when I adjust the Tonedirect slider, but starts again in some time. It don't have any difference (to the noise prob) if the buffer is set to small or large.
My system is laptop with Intel SU4100 CPU and Intel 4 series chipset.
I hope you hurry with new 64bit drivers, Toneport is useless (even dangerous for hearing) with these sound issues.
My Toneport UX2 worked fine with Vista 32bit, but the 64bit drivers are very bad.

I know how you feel hduk.
My 4 year old UX2 works flawlessly on my old custom built XP Pro 32 box. Win 7 64 Home Premium is a different story all together. After 5 less than successful installs I've lost hope. The Win 7 machine is a HP Pavillion dv7 notebook that has the IDT HD Audio Codec and Control Panel preinstalled. I think the IDT driver and the TonePort driver conflict with each other. But I'm not sure. After installing the TonePort on Win 7 I would have any programs including GearBox crash. It's really not the programs I don't think. What really crashes are rundll32.exe and Shell32.dll. Things would get so bad that the control panel and windows explorer would hang. The Line 6 uninstaller would hang as well (not surprisingly) and leaves line6 dlls, inf files (l6tpux2 or other such in the names) other line 6 associated junk and registry items behind. I had to manually delete the Line 6 control panel so it wouldn't show in the windows control panel.
I would also have the problem with clicks and pops as well no matter what settings I tried in the line 6 control panel.
I bought the laptop to replace the XP machine. The XP machine isn't going to last forever (eventually the CPU, BIOS, or Northbridge will croak). And what's sadder is I would love to get back to doing some home recording again. But with these Win 7 64 and Line 6 device issues are what I'm going to be plagued with, doing any recording is not a possibility. I hope the Line 6 programmers and delovopers are hard at work on creating compatible drivers. This is rediculous. I tried twice on installing the driver according to the most relevant canned KB/Support articles (useless).
I also tried installed my TonePort this way:
I installed the latest driver. Being, 4.0.2.7
Then installed and ran Monkey (which seems dated considering I updated to the 1.33 version during the later part of last year, when I used the TonePort on the XP)
Then Monkey had me download the latest version of GearBox (which I read the fine print and noticed it includes an older driver which I didn't install)
After installing GearBox I opened the windows control panel, opened the Line 6 control panel and noticed the older driver installed anyway, although Monkey showed the newer driver being installed.
According to Monkey the firmware seems severely behind the times (1.0.1 I think)
Anyway... no matter how you install anything I start off with , pops clicks, and dropouts (I will admit moving the slider in the Line 6 control panel farther to the right cleared that up), but sooner than later I would experience the rundll32.exe and shell32.dll crashes. But oddly never a BSOD.
I am not willing to have to do any major hotrodding to this Win 7 comp. I just bought it this April and not wanting to risk voiding the warranty. This laptop works fine otherwise but not while having my UX2 installed.

Same here, some info and ETA needed.
Meanwhile I use Toneport driver in 16bit/48000Hz mode, works without noise bursts. At least I can use Youtube, podcast, Spotify etc. but for "serious" recording it's not useful. Toneport driver in 24bit mode is as said dangerous for hearing, very loud static noises. Everything is updated and all Line6 tips and tricks checked and tried -> no help. DPC Latency Checker shows no latency spikes (all green).
Win 7 64bit. Intel SU4100, Intel Series 4 mobile chipset.

Hi,
Sorry you can't get it working. If you haven't tried already, you could ask Line 6 about this via http://Line6.com/support and technical support.
Hope things work out for you,
God Bless,
David
