Turning off effects

Is there a way to turn off the effects instead of turning the effects knobs all the way in each direction once?
For the Spider IV 13 and 30 models, no, but once all the FX are off you can save the channel defaults in this position. For the Spider 75 and up models, you would simply set the various FX to the OFF position on a per preset basis and then save the modified preset.

I don't know how to save the change. Every time I switch amp settings and go back to the previous setting where I turned off the effects the effects come back. I have the Spider IV 15.
Could you tell me how to save the setting change? And also going back to my original question, how exactly can I turn off the effects without turning the effects knobs fully to one side and back?
Thank you for your help.
Hi,
To save, press the Amp Model/Channel button and hold down 3-5 seconds until the light flashes. So, let's say you've dialed in the sound of the "Clean" channel to your liking. Press and hold the "Clean" button until you see it blink.
Next time you switch back to Clean, it should be the same sound settings you last saved it as.
Effects can only be turned off by turning the knob(s) fully to the left, or "Off" position.

Hi,
Thank you.
As far as turning off the effect, I tried doing it just by turning the effect dial to the left to the off position but that didn't work for me. I had to once turn it to the right all the way and then to the left all the way. That turned it off. This goes for both effect dials.
hi! i just wanted to be clear. does the effects button that turns the fx off or you have to hold the channel for each ch amp type? clean, crunch, insaine.. i have a lv 75 spider and each chanall automaticly has some type. how can iturn the efx off so i can change channels w/out efx on them? no f-board etc, just able to go up an down chs w/out any efx. hope this makes sence, thank.
bled500 - you need to save the sounds (without FX) into user patches. When you mention 'clean, crunch, insane...' - these are manual sound settings on the Spider IV 75, you cannot save new sounds to these manual settings, instead you have to save them into user patch locations.
I realize this is a old thread, but I want to chime in here for future readers; just so they don't think Line 6 is overly complicated or something.
To easily turn on or turn off the associated effects, you only need to hook up an FBV Shortboard MkII. There are buttons for each effect, in addition to channel buttons.
For instance, you can control (on off) the stomp, modulation, delay, and / or the reverb of each bank. Now, to change amp models (clean red to crunch green), you would have to use multiple tone banks but that makes sense.
I don't think this would work with any amp that does not have sound banks.
