POD HD500 Crashed & No Longer Working

G'day, I've had the HD500 for a couple of weeks now and had no issues at all.  I have updated the internal software via line 6 Monkey, working with HD500 Edit no worries and tonight it crashed out of nowhere while I was trying to get the vocoder to work.  Now when I try to power up the HD500 the Line 6 logo just keeps popping up on the screen and that's it.  Won't load any further at all.

I've tried reloading the flash memory as I saw on a couple of threads but Line 6 Monkey and HD500 Edit no longer recognise the HD500.

This is a great sounding unit and I love playing with it so it would great if you could let me know where to go from here to get it back in action.

Thanks,

Ben

hey mate, sorry to hear this. It's the same thing that has happened to me and a few others. As far as I've been told by someone who has been in touch with Line 6, there isn't a fix and the unit will have to be returned for repair. Some threads that might interest you below:

    Hi

I'm sorry you've experienced this.  I don't work for Line 6, but can say that they do monitor these forums and that being the case they will be aware of what appears so far to be a relatively small number of units which appear to have this problem.  The US offices have been closed since Thursday last wek for the Thanksgiving holiday break, so it's unlikely you'll get a response to this thread until they re-open tomorrow.

I don't know what the cause of your unit's failure is, and I don't know what the solution is.  It will be repairable certainly by a Line 6 Authorised Repair Centre or Line 6 themselves.  It may not be user fixable.  I would strongly suspect that Line 6 might want to have your specific unit back to find out exactly what the problem and cause might be.  You are covered by a 12 month warranty anyway, and Line 6 aren't the type of company to leave a customer high and dry.

If your dealer is local and will swap the unit for you, that's probably your quickest route to getting back up and running.

What will probably happen as soon as Line 6 Tech Support see this thread is that you will be sent a Support Ticket by PM which will give you access to one on one support from a Line 6 Support Technician to help you resolve the issue.

    Best regards

    Nick
