pod x3 live blank screen - dead

This is the first time I've ever posted or asked for help with a line 6 product. I don't want to bash line 6 and have had (and still do have) many line 6 products (Pod Pro, Pod 2.0, Flextone 3, Pod xt Live, and Pod x3 live). Although I've been disappointed with some products, I've always respected them and try to get the latest gear. My pod x3 live recently had what another user called the "full black lcd". http://line6.com/community/thread/21924 It died in the middle of a gig, talk about embarrassing. I've looked for updated solutions and haven't been able to find anything. Hooking it up to the computer has been no help, the x3 live is not recognized. Have any service centers been able to successfully repair what seems to be a fairly common issue? What is a realistic potential cost of repairing this and is there any compensation for a loyal line 6 customer?
Hello,
I'm sorry to hear about your POD failing during a gig. That's never good.
I have seen screens fail on the X3 Live but I don't believe this to be a fairly common problem. The perception on our forums can make it easy to think that but overall, this type of failure has been quite small.
If you are out of warranty then you need to contact a local service center. Repairs can vary from place to place depending on the bench fees and hourly rates.
It looks like you do have at least two authorized service centers near you so I would suggest you call both of them to compare rates and turnaround times, etc.
