Hi Don,
Is there anway to adjust the display contrast on a V70 Rx ?
The contrast is very low so the display is allmost unreadable, the backlight brightness is OK.
Thanks
Unfortunately there is no adjustment possible. It is controlled by the hardware.
Can the hardware therefore be adjusted by your UK service Dept?
No ... it is fixed
Hi,
I own a XD-V75 and the contras first was fine. After using it for firmware-updates for several Relay G50 + G90 suddenly the contrast became such bad, that the display is unusable.
Is it a hardware-fault or a feature? I programmed it once with the actual Firmware 2.0 - no contrast anyway...
Whats to do?
Thanks
Christian
G'day from Australia, Christian...
Sadly, (as indicated, I think, by the earlier part of this conversation) it would appear that your LCD display has suffered some kind of hardware "melt-down" that can only be repaired by the unit being serviced in the workshop of your nearest Line 6 Service Center.
You could create a "Support Ticket" by clicking through a series of links, starting with a click on "Support" in the black area at the bottom of this page, ...however, I think may well be easier for you to go via the dealer that sold you the unit.
Hi,
I've found the fault:
I used another than the original power supply. Same voltage, but... with the original power supply, all works fine!
Bye
Christian
Thanks Christian for reporting back.
Funny things happen when the XDV's are starved for current. You would expect just plain failure, but they start to work normally and then go haywire.
...And it's prompted another thought regarding LCDs.
Here in Oz, we're often faced with the failure of LCD displays (on all sorts of gear) belonging to folks who've left them exposed to the heat from direct sunlight.
A good "rough guide": If the black metal of your equipment is becoming warm from the sun, cover it up or (better still) move it into the shade ...and slap some 30+ sunscreen on your own exposed "bits".
As for current "starvation", I've found that it pays to allow half an amp (500mA) of ripple-free and fully regulated 9 volts DC for each XD-V receiver, be that supply from "wall warts" or marine/auto DC to DC "power conditioning" converters, ...exactly as Don says.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
