POD 2 Tone Transfer Deep Editing software installation and registration problems

Hi Line 6 Users,
I have an ancient Line 6 POD 2, and I also have a Line 6 Roto Machine pedal. I recently tried to use the included software for the first time for the POD 2, but couldn't install or register the software. I have discovered some really great guitar sounds with the POD 2 and would like to use the deep editing software to create differing degrees of the air that's in 'direct' mode. I generally use the POD 2 in 'amp' mode.
I would really appreciate some advice about how to register and install such ancient software. I'm hoping to blend a little bit of the 'direct' mode effects to some of my patches, and then conveniently store them.

Don,
You can go to http://line6.com/account/registergear/ and register your POD.
After you have done that go to http://line6.com/software/ and download Line 6 Edit version 3.04 for your POD.
You will need to buy a 3rd party USB to MIDI interface to connect your POD to your computer. Follow the link below to see an example of this.
