Floor pod plus connecting to a marshall

Hi could anyone tell me what way to connect a FPP to a Marshall Valvestate 65R. Do i go "guitar - FPP input, FPP Mono output - FX Return on the amp".

What should I have the FPP Amp/Direct switch on and lastly should i have the Cab tuning mode on C-c(default) as the amp is an open backed 1x12" speaker.
