Using Podfarm Plug-In in Garageband '11

Hi, I purchased the Toneport/Guitarport Online bundle.

Gear: Intel Mac, version 10.6.7, all Line 6 software is up to date as of 4/5/11

As standalone applications, Podfarm, Gearbox work great but w Garageband...

I followed ALL the steps in this tutorial...

http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-2071

...for the Podfarm plug-in within Garageband but still get an error message telling me "A required device is either not authorized or not connected..." (see attachment). Everything is plugged in and I'm getting a signal in Garageband but cannot use the plug-in. I've tried reconnecting and restarting, etc. but still get the message. I also tried (within Line 6 Monkey) to REactivate anything I could but there are no options for that. Also tried reinstalling Podfarm, drivers etc, with no luck. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated :-)

Brian

    Hey briandrankin,

I would try using POD Farm in stand alone mode and output the audio into Garageband.

-With your toneport connected to a USB port on your computer, not a USB hub or extension.

      -Launch POD Farm.

-Once launched, set up tone that you would like to use.

-Click on the Mixer tab in center of the program, towards the top, to the right of the Line 6 logo.

-Using the outputs on the right hand side, make sure to select TONE A for outputs send 1-2.

    toneportoutput.bmp

      -Leave POD Farm open.

      -Launch Garageband.

-Within the audio options/preferences menu, make sure to select your toneport as the audio device/driver.

-Create a new audio track in garageband.

-On the right of garageband, make sure that the input of the track is toneport 1-2.

From there you should be able to record the sounds you are getting from POD Farm into garageband.

      I hope this helps.

    Hey briandrankin,

From this point, if you would like to use POD Farm 2 as a plugin in Garageband, you will need to purchase a license. They are available on our online store:

      http://line6.com/store/

On the main page, you will see POD Farm 2 plugin, make sure and select your device from the pull down menu so that you purchase the correct license.

If you have any further issues, just let us know.
