Line 6 Monkey only asks for Midi Connections

I'm a total neb at all this.
I'm trying use the MOnkey to recognise my FBV MK II footswitch board and then ultimately connect to my Spider Valve 112 amp.
It seems like I can only get the monkey to recognise the FBV MK when I select MIDI connections. That's where I get lost. Which connections should I choose for the in/out ?
The same thing happens when I go for the Spider Valve 112 connection (which I know is somewhat useless until I square away the FBV.)
Yes, I am plugged in an enhanced USD and everything else seems normal. Just losing it in terms of understanding these connection protocols.

Hi,
The first generation Spider Valve will not connect to a computer. This functionality was added in the MKII series:

Does that mean guitarport online is an impossibility .... what if I buy a POD ? Just use the POD in between the guitar the computer ?
Still a great amp though, bought it used and love it !
