HD500+DT50 212 tone request

Hi all! I ve search on customtone for HD500+DT50 212 Patch, but i can't find usable tones for dt50 users ( i try the preset from great guy Nick mattocks, but for me don't work fine....maybe he used it with variax guitars ). The amp is in my hands about three weeks, and i' ve tried in gig every weeks...i tweek and try three or four fine tone ( i' ll upload today at customtone ), and i like to try some tone from other users.
What i find is; this amp is too loud, too hard
(34 lbs/45 Kg!!!) and alone with my guitar is VERY COOL, really love the sound out of this monster
, but make different patches, in combination with HD500, with same volume is not easy ( blackface double and another Park 75 or jcm800 ).
Another thing difficult for me is to find a good solo tone with distortion boxes but, i know, i need time to understand how optimize this gear for work well together....anyway, thank you for your time!
Best regards Roby
P.s: i read now this http://http://line6.com/community/message/259227#259227 from Nick about his tone, make before update firmware, this is the reason why don't work for me now... MY ENGLISH IS ![]()

SORRY
OK, here is my gig setlist, a few preset i need for now. Master volume (on DT50) set to 02.00 o'clock...
You may find that running the amp in low power mode (Master Volume pulled) with FULL rather than PRE amp models will work better for you.
Have you got a paper based set list of actual songs you are trying to cover? That might help pin the tones you need closer to the style and give me or anyone else a better clue as to exactly what you are looking for.
Are you using a Strat for everything?
Master volume at 2 o'clock would be about 75%. That's really very loud. 12 o'clock would mean the pointer on the master volum control knob is pointing straight up. Do you maybe mean about 8 o'clock where the control knob has only travelled about 10-15% from 0% - this would equate to about 2 on a dial witth 10 markers?

thanks

Hi Nick! I will try to run the amp in low power mode ( with full amp ) next gig saturday night, thank you for the tips.
I want to crate a couple of simple patch work for my strato type guitar (hss texas sp and seymour duncan picks)
and/or my ibanez js1200....no specific group or song....Santana meet Satriani meet Jimi
.... my idea is
to try different patch and find someting to tweek at my kind of sound.
Because i play in a orchestra/band and one time i play Santana another time is a polka next Satriani or classic jazz...really crazy versatile band, i think....but cool to play with!!
Volume master (amp) at 75 %, YES, Sir!!!! But maybe i need to tweek down a little
, because the other components of the band (6).... you know ( "WHAT THE HELL...TURN DOWN THE F....ING VOLUME..YOU F.....ING" etc etc.......they want to kill me

As ever, Thank you!!!!
I take it that your amp is DI'd to the PA? In that case as long as you can hear yourself on-stage, you don't need to be mega loud as the sound engineer can mix you at the right level with a great sound through the PA. If that is how you do it, then you can keep your bandmates happy. Alternatively if the half volume mode is too quiet, then try switching to Triode mode which should reduce the output level a bit.
I seriously would try and find some time to experiment with your settings before your gig next weekend as you need to get a good idea of how your guitar is going to sound. The Santana meets Satriani sort of tone should be fairly straightforward - I assume you're looking for the classic mid 70's style Santana sustain type tone which can pass for Gary Moore too with Parisienne Walkways or Still Got The Blues too.
I'll try and find some time over the next day or so to come up with some generic tones that might work well enough for you to tweak to taste - however, you should also continue to create tones for yourself. There's also over 1200 tones for the HD500 now up on Custom Tone, and I'd wager that there's enough there to keep you going ![]()

Yes, i use the dedicated out of DT50 direct into PA

No problem ![]()
We all want to help you get the best from your gear, and really it is possible to get your sound I'm certain with a bit of persistence and experimentation on your part. If you want to share any more of the presets you come up with for he purposes of feedback from us, please post them here - and I'm sure you will get some potential pointers if you find you are still getting stuck.
good luck
Nick
my girlfriend tell me; "TAKE YOUR F....ING GUITAR IN YOUR F...ING HANDS AND DONT' FORGET TO PLAY F....ING MUSIC"!!!!!.......LOL!
...i think she is a reincarnation of BUDDHA!!!!!!
+1
Even getting my HD400/DT-50 112 dialed in using PRE models and proper amp topography took me a while...Much like Nick's suggestion here to you, I dialed in my first patches as FULL models and pinned the DT50 topography to Class A Pentode...NFL 3 I think...The No Feedback setting...Anyhow, that approach I found is much easier to get the patches leveled off and is a more typical "tweaking the POD" approach....I a show or two that way...Those patches were pretty good...I then took all my patches I had made, backed them up and them changed the amp model to PRE...I focussed mainly on the DRIVE and CHANNEL Volume...Then I did fine tuning on the EQ...
It is more difficult to get things balanced off, but it's the nature of what they have created in the DT-50 that experiences pretty dramatic power swings in some changes...Class AB 50 watts->Class A 30 watts...You have to compensate the channel volume for this and I can't see how that could bee made much easier...I think it is worth the effort...Going from real AC-30 feel to a Hiwatt, Park are such a cool contrast in feel that is new...digital preamp modeling with modelled analog voltage hitting a class morphing tube power amp is not anything I have ever heard before...It's new territory I think...real power amp modeling...whoa...
Hi
Most of my tones on Custom Tone were created very early on, so maybe the changes in firmware on both the DT50 and the HD500 have changed the intended sound slightly. I'll take a look at your set list and see if i have anything more appropriate that might work.
