stomp boxes and x3 live

Hello,

i want to use my stomp boxes with x3 live. The idea is to use X3L as an "amp" and connect some stompboxes (wah, dist and od's, filters) "in front of" the amp sim while connecting modulation, delays, etc... stompboxes "after" the amp sim of the pod x3L. Is this possible in some way?

Thanks!

    Hi abelet,

I haven't done this myself, but am sure that you can.  X3Live has an effects loop, so you could connect like this :-

GUITAR -> DRIVE STOMP -> X3L IN -> AMP SIM BLOCK -> X3L EFFECT LOOP OUT -> MODULATION STOMPS -> X3L EFFECT LOOP IN -> OTHER X3L BLOCKS IF NECESSARY -> X3L OUT to PA

The only thing you will have to watch will be that all your levels match through the chain.  I would suggest doing one step at a time, for example :-

    1) Set up an X3L patch with amp sim only

    2) Connect guitar and set level

    3) Now add Drive Stomp between guitar and X3L and again set levels

    4) Add modulation pedal in effects loop and set levels

    etc.

This way, you will know at each ctage that your sound is good.

    Hope this helps?
