Wow! What a looker! Give us some more details and maybe a sound clip to give an idea of the sounds it does. Thanks. I'm going to just keep waiting on mine and deal with it. If I don't like it when it finally arrives, I'll do the same thing you did.

OK, understand up front I'm not holding this out as a "Variax replacement" per se, but for what I wanted out of the Variax, mainly Fenderish and Les Paul tones from one guitar, this does the trick. Ahem, it will cost more, but so does a Porsche.

This particular guitar is a Paul Reed Smith Limited Custom 24: http://prsguitars.com/2010_custom24ltd/index.php

The humbuckers have the coils split out for certain positions in the 5 way blade switch:

    Position One: Bridge humbucker
Position Two: Bridge humbucker with neck singlecoil, in parallel
Position Three: Bridge and neck humbuckers
Position Four: Neck singlecoil with bridge singlecoil, in parallel
    Position Five: Neck humbucker

    Sounds like this:

Rich, while I'm still waiting for my JTV-69, I'll play along with a feature request/suggestion.

Impedance matching is showing up on some other products, so how about giving us the ability to set the impedance in Workbench?  I think I heard you say that the JTV series has a lot of space left for expansion.  I could see it under the level control in pickup tab in Workbench with centre being the pickups default position.  That way users' can raise or lower impedance of individual pickups to match the amp they are going into.

Might also be a dumb idea ... what do I know ... like I said just playing along until my JTV comes!

    Cheers,

I'd like to be able to adjust the guitar cable length impedance.  Does anyone here know if the guitars are modelled directly from the components into a computer, or if they're modelled at the end of a specific length and type of guitar cable?  I haven't got a clue.  Rich gave me a Line 6 tour once, but that wasn't one of the questions that I asked.

...and to the previous poster as well...I have only one thing that popped into my head when I read these two postings......SERIOUSLY?????

Th-th-th-that's all folks!...for now anyway.  I have much more info regarding recent discoveries regarding the JTV guitars, HD500, and DT50 gear.

    Take care,

    Neal

    Ha!

Yes, seriously, but not because it's a serious issue.  I'm just curious about the modelling process and of what tweaks are possible - I want to turn knobs and see what they do!

I don't have my JTV yet - ordered in November from Sweetwater - but I'm excited to play it and figure out what I can do with it.  Rest easy, MerlinFL - I'm confident that the cable length that the guitar models used won't be a deal breaker.

I would like to see the ability to add a bit of EQ to the signal... a sliding level under the Volume which would allow you to brighten or darken the sound for optimum tonal punch depending on which amp or amp simulation you are using.

I'm not sure if this is where I should post this but, after sitting on the side, I just jumped in to the pool.  The GC 15% off (and  threw in a free hard-shell case), was a bit too much temptation for me to resist.  So, I just ordered the JTV-69, Sunburst (wasn't crazy about the the looks of any of the 69's and was actually leaning toward the Placid Blue).  Anyway, Delivery data is estimated to be 08/22/11.  Any words of wisdom or should I post info this elsewhere?  Thanks!!
