DT50 112 Totally Frozen...help

I was using the Line6 link w/ my HD500 hooked up to my computer and the edit software. All was good. Then, I selected a new patch to start creating...POP...sound from the amp and then all functions on the DT50 are stuck. Can't generate a sound from directly plugging into input and the power tubes are looking good.
What is up?
i assume powering down the amp and then starting it again doesn't make it work???
is not then it sounds like the amp needs a service. http://line6.com/service_centers/
Yes...power down makes no diff. I wonder if there is a factory reset?
well the DT50 doesn't store any information, it does only what the front panel controls are set at. so there's nothing to reset as such.
you could try a firmware reinstall, but failing on that I would have it serviced.
Have you resolved this issue? When you power the amp up, does changing topology, class, or biasing do anything?
Hi, I have exactly the same problem, using The Pod HD and 2 DT 50 connected together via L6 link... One of the 2 amps suddenly does'nt produce any sound and the switches don't work anymore while the lights stay on... I tried to make the update with L6 Monkey, thinking it should change something but it was no use....... Any answers ?

I don't use two amps but I have an idea. Have you gone into the Setup page 8 and 9 on the POD HD? Make sure you have the POD controlling the amps and sending the signals. There are specifics in the manual on how this should be done. Look in the L6 Link connectivity guide:
This may be the answer but I can't be sure. I would suggest switching which amp you are connecting to first with the L6 link, also. If it's always the second amp not working, then it has to be something in the Setup.
Try some things and get back to us. I have the DT-50 HD so no need for stereo us for me, but if one day I get another DT-50 HD I would love to make that work out for me. Good luck!
Hi Hollis, no that's not the issue, even when it's alone, the DT50 that doesn't work still doesn't... No msound at all and all the switches are blocked. I've reinstalled the 1.10 firmware, nothing changes, and then I've reinstalled the 1.20 firmware... Nothing changes. I'm really sad because this amp is completely blocked after only one month use..... It's not possible, there's surely a way to get the sound back but what way ?
One more detail :
I'm very surprised to see that there's no more sound on the DT50 when I plus my guitar in the front panel INPUT but that there's sound using the effect "return".... Very strange : the Pod HD OUT connected in the DT 50 effect return works well but the DT50 doesn't provide any sound when the guitar is plugged directly IN........ Is someone understanding what happens to my amp ?
Cheers
Dominik

That indicates there is a problem in the DT-50's front end DSP/Pre-amp section where some digital modelling takes place. The effects return socket simply feeds the amp's analogue power amp section.
The problem you have may possibly be hardware related, but probably not. A possible indicator of this would be if you don't hear the amp's relays clicking within about thirty seconds of turning the amp's main power switch on. Clicking would indicate that things are probably working correctly in terms of most of the hardware, but no clicking would indicate a definite problem to me and the amp may need to be sent in for service.
However, far more likely in my opinion is the possibility that the amp's flash memory (firmware) has been upset by something such as a power surge (like a computer might be affected in a similar way). You should therefore, try to re-flash your amp's firmware before becoming too alarmed. You'll need a decent and reliable MIDI interface to achieve this as well as the latest version of Line 6 Monkey (1.41) on your computer. Ensure you connect both MIDI In and MIDI Out correctly. The process takes about ten minutes to complete, but may take a little longer. Do not disconnect your MIDI cables until Monkey advises you that the process has completed.
If a power spike/surge has caused the issue and corrupted the amp's firmware installation, it might be time to think of getting a power conditioner to prevent this happening in the future.
If this doesn't work, depending on where you are, either contact your dealer to arrange for service or contact your nearest Line 6 Authorised Service Centre to arrange for the amp to be assessed and/or repaired under warranty (it cannot be 12 months old yet, but may be in a month or so!)

Thanks for your answer Nick, I can hear the "click" when the amp's switched on. I've already tried to re-install the firmware, using Line 6 monkey. I've even re-installed the 1.10 firmware instead of the 1.20. It did change nothing... I re installed the 1.20 then again and it changed nothing at all... switches stay blocked... and... no sound.
If you think it may be a solution, I'll try to make a new install tomorrow but I'm really pessimist...

definently give another midi interface a try... you don't mention which one you have... but i've heard of the midi interface being the cause of quite a few issues.
+1...That would be me....I have a midi UNO that will not update my DT-50...Not sure why as it has updated my Flextone III XL, 1.0 XTL...works fine with edit programs but it just will not update the DT-50 for some reason...I have an EMU1820 that is pci based and is very reliable...My DT-50 has gotten unresponsive like that on a failed flash using my UNO. The EMU interface has recovered it everytime...Needless to say, I don't use my UNO anymore...It's about 6 or 7 years old and likely there is a hardware problem with it...
I had the same problem. The onboard midi interface in my M-Audio Projectmix I/O would not update the DT50, but when I yanked out my old Midiman 2X2 midi interface it worked fine.
You mean the DT50 firmware is not updated at all (you don't see the 1.20 in Line 6 Monkey) ? Or is the firmware updated in L6 Monkey but the DT 50 does not work ? Do you think if I use another midi interface, then my DT will be nice updated and then will work again ? I use a Roland UM1...
I changed the midi interface using a TC Electronic Konnekt 8, the update has been done but nothing changed... Still no sound and all the switches are blocked. I'm loosing a lot of my time with that problem without changing anything. I'm tired with that amp, and feel very disappointed... Any other way ?
