Setting up vocals with POD X3 live with 2 channels

How do you split the vocal and guitar outputs? We are trying to run the vocals through the PA (tone 2) and the bass (tone 1) through the amp/cabinet but the vocals are still bleeding through the bass amp.

We have tried panning each channel, one to left and one to right but they still both come through both outputs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading!

Could be a couple of things........

There is a known glitch in the X3 panner where some tone bleeding occurs at the full (100%) L/R pan positions. Try backing of the panning for each Tone just a tick to slightly less than full L/R; that should stop the bleeding.

Also, depending on what outputs you are using you might choose to mute the Tones. Often, a setup like you describe will work best if you use the XLR Direct outputs to the PA/mixer for vocals, and the 1/4" Live outputs to the amp. In that case you would mute the guitar Tone in the XLR Outputs page, and mute the Mic Tone in the Live Outputs page. In this case you need not pan the Tones to mono; you could leave the Pan position for each Tone in the middle and retain dual stereo channels.

Finally, make sure your Inputs are set up properly: Guitar for Tone 1 and Mic for Tone 2.

These Output settings (like Mute) are not global settings. You must reset them for each preset.

Also, whenever my bassist uses the wah pedal is decreases the volume on the vocals...is it possible to use the wah effect while using the x3 for vocals at the same time? ....

In Tone 2 (your vocal tone) edit the VOL pedal effect. You can set the Min/Max levels of the pedal range to the same value. This negates the effect of moving the pedal. Alternatively, you could simply turn OFF the VOL effect in the signal flow view for Tone 2. In the former case set the min/max level at the point that provides the best volume level for your vocal tone. In the latter case you would need to rely only on the Channel volume to get a good level; if you can't get a good level using only the Channel volume, then you should use the former method.
